It\'s me! ...just kidding :P
WAIT DON\'T GO!
I really do have a gift
...although its kind of unrelated...
but hey, this is the off-topic forum, heh
so, anyway.... ............umm......... ........ right, the gift.
the gift is something I made specifically for you that I hope you like. And I know the kind of things that you like. You and me, PS community, we go way back; we have history. I remember that time when we were holding hands walking along the beach and you hinted that you liked rocks as big as diamonds... well, I know I shouldn\'t have PS community, but I wanted to, and you know you\'re worth it...
I got you a Pizza Value Calculator (http://members.cox.net/abemore/Pizza%20Value%20Calculator.htm) !!!
why are you angry, PS community? I did this for us... okay, mostly for me, but I put your name on it... oh... oh yeah... i guess that is my name. What can I say, I like pizza, and I don\'t need to waste all my money buying expensive Round Table pizza that you wont even eat!
...
I\'m sorry PS community, I don\'t want to fight... m... maybe we should just be friends.
This relationship is getting kinda weird anyway.
So check out the Pizza Value Calculator (http://members.cox.net/abemore/Pizza%20Value%20Calculator.htm) I made for you. It\'ll save you MONEY. =)

Good one Abemore,
As I live in Denmark I had no idea what a pizza would cost in Dollars but I can tell you my guess gave a result of 38.8. That pizza can wipe its ass with me!
-
thanx :)
it should work no matter what currency you use, although the scale would no longer apply. Maybe I should include a currency converter or refer people to a site where they can convert their currency to USD, such as http://www.xe.com/
i bet in denmark your pizzas arent sized in inches either...
-
Erm, like most parts of the world use centimeters, and the rest of the metrics system, inches are outdated :O
-
to you maybe, I can understand inches, can\'t understand centimeters at all... but then, I\'m just a dumb american
-
Bah, I\'m too lazy to learn centimeters. Inches aren\'t out of date! Ok, maybe they are but if I like them, and everybody that\'s part of the U.S. likes them so what! I like inches better anyway, to me they make more sense (edit: except for the counting in 12) (of course, i\'m a little biased :P )
hmm... let\'s think about this...
------------ about an inch
---- about a centimeter
2.5 of a centimeter=1 inch
conclusion: centimeters are too logical and too small, we americans need something big, juicy and super-sized
Btw, nice gift. I\'ll have to bookmark it.

thats why we\'re so fat... our portions are too big. and I like the metric system, but we dont use it here.

The metric system is more accurate than your system... that\'s why it was made..
-
how can you say it\'s more accurate, an inch always equals an inch, just like a centimeter always equals a centimeter. A foot always equals a foot, a yard a yard, a meter a meter, a kilometer will always equal a kilometer. It\'s kind of like languages, one is as good as another. I was raised with standard, others were raised with metric.

who\'s system is \"your system\"? I don\'t claim it, I just use it because that is whats used here in the states. If i could change it all to metric, I would.
also... \"more accurate\"? way to post without knowing what you\'re talking about. for more information, see tygerwilde\'s post.
I didn\'t know this topic would turn into such an inane discussion about which measurement system is better...
-
for starters \"Currently the meter is the distance light travels in a vacuum in 1/299 792 458 second\" such research was made in the metric system, the distances in \"our\" (I\'m from denmark, metric system is used in most countries in the world) system and therefore it will always be the more accurate.. I can point out several other research materials suggesting the accuracy of the metric system...
\"inch, foot, yard
rod, chain, furlong, mile\"
british names are old, and inaccurate in the manner of being defined as \"parts of a meter, or other metrical units\"
of course the metric system is newer, but it wasn\'t defined on the basis of the other units...
to go completely out of topic, you actually have no units in ligh, electricity and magnetism.. You use the metric system. therefore \"your\" system is out of date and inaccurate... if my use of \"inaccurate\" is wrong please correct me, but what I meant was simply that the metric system is betterm and more precise in the manner that it was not based on something else, but made entirely by complicated research, such as:
The second is determined to an uncertainty, U = 1 part in 1014 by the Cesium clock. The General Conference made the iodine stabilized Helium-Neon laser a recommended radiation for realizing the meter at this time. The wavelength of this laser is
λHeNe = 632.99139822 nm
with an estimated relative standard uncertainty (U) of ? 2.5 x 10?11....
these are the current calculations, but since the system is always being revised, and recalculated, it will become ever more accurate over time...
-
dude, if a researcher really wanted to, they could find out how long it takes for light to travel an inch in a vacuum.
the only difference between metric and standard is that metric is simplified, everything is a multiple of ten, and I\'ll admit, it\'s a lot more convinient to use 1 millimeter rather than...what is one millimeter close to? I think it\'s 1/16 of an inch?
metric is not more accurate, it simply has smaller units, being that the smallest standard unit I know is the inch, however, when It\'s broken into fractions, the inch can just as accurately measure anything...
I like the way the metric system works, but I was raised on standard, and it\'s therefore easiest for me to understand...
-
Allright so convinient was the word I was looking for... It\'s simpler, and easier to use the metric system, than dividing your system into fractions....
-
Yes, the metrics system simply has a better structure, and is designed to make calculating much easier. In science the method is already worldwide accepted. That leaves the stubborn British and the fat Americans :)

My oppinion exactly!! :D

Hey! How can you say we\'re stubborn, we love change! Look at how we embrace the Euro with open arms hehe :P

Actually what you hear about 1/3 of americans being fat is true. Same goes for over-commercialization. It\'s quite sad really. :( I do my part though, I eat at subway :P (which is quite good btw)

Man ....
your spending too much time on the pc ....
Get a rest ... on the other hand games are found to improve your I.Q. ....
So please try playing more so we won\'t have to go through your nonsense again ....
-
eL_Qadsawi, who is your comment directed at?
Xalthar, I\'m glad you\'ve finally stopped your useless quest to prove what every intelligent person already knows: the metric system is better. That\'s why I said in my earlier post that this was an inane discussion.
-
Useless? It was extremely useless... And also a complete waste of time :D

Aww, come come, nobody forced you to read the topic now did they? These people are just having fun, you know? If you want to comment, why not contribute to the discussion. :)
As for the REST of you... *puts on the meanest, nastiest, fluffiest cute expression she can muster* ...carry on. :D

Brits.........
Well its a good thing you like change. Now I know why you keep trying to invent games . When you do actually invent one you get thrashed by people all over .. Then you go to the process of inventing new games.......
