u know what id like to see? a stable and nice looking game! Now dont get me wrong, this IS a beta and it IS free so i dont expect anything from the devs but ppl r asking for monsters and new items and whatnot, but ure all rushing. Ive made a small (yet big) list of the MENDATORY things that need to be done that i noticed within the first five minutes playing this game.
1. Right now it seems PS loads every texture in the whole game in ure memory, maybe a memory leak or 2 to be fixed too.
2. The damn chatbox isnt even done properly, text is cut off down the bottem and up the top.
3. The password is uncovered and free for everyone to see, how bout some **** to cover it up at login. And have it NOT saved to your computer.
4. Currency system properly up and running.
5. Trade system, basic fighting system implemented.
6. Mouselook. *MUST HAVE*
Now ive been reading alot of post over the last few days and a havent seen any dev\'s reply here at all, so i\'d like some feedback ESPECIALLY from the dev\'s to us.
Thank you.

*sighs*... I don\'t rightly know how many threads have been devoted to this exact same topic... in responnse to your needs Nazeroth... wait until around December for the next version - dont expect a finished product though - good games take time
-
then if this has been posted so many times y r ppl still creating threads on things that shouldnt even be thort about for atleast 6 months? (which is about the time i think it will take this game to get to a enjoyable level) Had i known this topic had been placed and discussed before i probly would not have post this thread but i did because if the devs started making whats in the thread list right now the game would be all over the place.
-
no reason to be offended - I answered your question afterall - it\'s not like i pulled a Link and said \'search the damn forums you...\"
-
next time look into things before u open ur mouth to criticize.
God bless,
-en3r0

Drag the lower right corner to resize the chatbox, check Moogie\'s thread in disscussion for trading, and be patient. The devs are hard @ work.
Edit:And oh yeah, does tech demo mean anything to you? Because it means \"Technology Demonstration\" to me. (no newbie ever understands that :( )

Nazeroth: the reason we are creating all these threads is because PS is a \"community\" effort. We are all assisting in the creation of this game. By submitting ideas and discussing them we aid the Dev\'s in the process of creating content for the game. That is in fact a large part of the draw of this game for many people. They get to assist in the creation of a world.

exactly - I could be fragging peeps in CS or D2 right now - or just RPing with my D&D friends - but working on this game is alot more enjoyable!

But this is the whole point to my thread, i mean dont get me wrong ure all posting great ideas but arnt we getting a bit ahead of our selves? I see this alot in Beta MMORPGS, the Dev\'s just get ahead of them selves and start on some projects and leave other more important ones behind for later fixing, and that just creates a chaos of bugs trust me. Some of the problems ive listed that should be done can be done in less than 20 minutes, and if i were the dev\'s id fix that memory problem FIRST.
-
I already said that those willl come with the next version most likely - look at atomic blue and molecular blue and there are a world of changes - just wait and rant to the devs themselves on the IRC channel in the meantime :)
-
hmm...ok...wheres the channel? and y the hell do the devs do these \'molecular blue\' full update things? y dont they just update the damn game everytime they fix something?
-
most people would rather have one big download than lots of little ones - and it\'s more dramatic :P
go here for instructions: http://www.planeshift.it/community_irc.htm

The thing is nazeroth: everything you mentioned has been covered multiple times in threads and in the bug submittal and feature request systems on Sourceforge. The dev\'s are indeed working on repairing bugs and adding UI enhancements. Some of which are fixed now and some of which will be implemented in the next release.

give the guy a break he\'s a newb

cmon Shangy, we answered his question - anything else he had coming - sort of

***Real Reason***
Its because EVERYONE knows the basics need to be done and anyone could point those out, now since everyone but the noobs know thats being taken care of, we talk about more advanced features being put in-game. k? thnx.
btw development will be much more rapid when all the basics are done.
-
Its just my idea, but everyone keeps saying the next release will be in december... so i think the devs made that approximation because they want to have those things hashed out nazeroth... Im sure over 4 months will allow them to fix a memory problem.
-
mouselook => press \\
-
yes i think i am a bit of a noob, or acted as one heh...i thourght the devs were being slow fools who didnt know wat they were doing but now i see that they still have have the engine to go and they r still only building the game, in other words i guess i missed the \"this game is in BETA!\" (or even alpha?) message.
-
This game is not BETA.
This game is not ALPHA.
This game is PRE-ALPHA, TECH DEMO.
1. We know.
2. We know.
3. We know.
4. Give it time.
5. Trade system is already implemented. Combat to be implemented in Crystal Blue.
6. Mouselook is already implemented.
\"u know what id like to see? a stable and nice looking game!\"
It already looks nice, but what do you expect for a tech demo?
\"then if this has been posted so many times y r ppl still creating threads on things that shouldnt even be thort about for atleast 6 months?\"
Because those people are people like you, who do not take five minutes of your time to read anything. You didn\'t even know there was a mouselook feature- what do we have a Player\'s Guide (http://www.planeshift.it/playerguide.html)for, if you will not read it?
\"Some of the problems ive listed that should be done can be done in less than 20 minutes, and if i were the dev\'s id fix that memory problem FIRST.\"
Guess what? They ARE. But you can\'t expect them to fix bugs like this before they even have a world to walk around in.
\"hmm...ok...wheres the channel? and y the hell do the devs do these \'molecular blue\' full update things? y dont they just update the damn game everytime they fix something?\"
Find the channel yourself. Molecular Blue is the name of the current release of the game. Petty updates would still take a long time to download, as the very engine of the game is constantly updated also. I\'d rather download a full game every 6-12 months rather than having to spend two hours every few days downloading small updates.
\"i thourght the devs were being slow fools who didnt know wat they were doing but now i see that they still have have the engine to go and they r still only building the game\"
Well, that\'s what you get for looking before you leap. Next time, don\'t waste our time with such a silly thread. Just about everything you brought up has already been discussed and can even be found on the website.
[Edit: Apologies if I sound harsh here. There\'s nothing I hate more than people who do not help themselves, expecting to be spoonfed everything they should already know before even stepping foot in the game.]

nice Mogura ;)
