Title: Will I be able to play this game?
Post by: Rosvineer on August 03, 2003, 06:06:17 pm
I currently play EQ with a P3, 450mhz, 356ram, geforce 2 mx400 with 64m video ram, and a cable connection.  I think I\'m on everything but my processor.  Will this cause me problems?

Like I said, I currently play EQ with only a little bit of frame rate issues  and that\'s only if I keep my clip plane up and new models loaded.

Anyone?  Thanks.

The requirements for Planeshift are somewhat on the steep side now. You should still be able to play Planeshift but it might not be very high on the framerates. Planeshift is still very much a work in progress and the requirements are quite high. I would still suggest that you try it out anyway, since there is nothing to lose.

I went to download and was asked what mirror I wanted to use.  I am a total newbie when it comes to stuff like this.  If I pick a mirror, am I connecting to someones personal server?  And if I don\'t pick a mirror, will I be playing alone?  I might have missed it in the FAQ, I didn\'t see anything about this.

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

You should pick a mirror that is geographically close to you so that you download time is shorter.

once you have downloaded and installed the program you will not be alone in your playing. we all log on to the same server to play the game.

Well I answered my own question.  I cannot play this game with my above posted specs.  The frame rate is just too choppy.  I\'ve needed to buy a new processor for a long time, maybe one day I\'ll break down and get one.

It\'s too bad, the game looked and sounded nice.

Good luck with it y\'all.
