If you had to choose the best weapon from one category in the game what would it be?
- The most powerful Combat Gloves
- The best forged Sword
- The most mighty Axe
- The best well made Bow and the most accurate Arrow
- The most durable whip
- The strongest flail
- The hardest blackjack
- The sharpest Katars
- The most aerodynamic spear
- The sturdiest staff (added)
-
-The best forged Sword
or
- The best well made Bow and the most accurate Arrow
But I\'ll go for the sword since in Real-Life (tm) I can\'t shoot a bow very well :D
-
bows are quite fun, once you get the hang of it... I\'ve once shot a rabbit with a bow, and... oh, won\'t continue down that road :P
Well, I would like a nice staff instead, since I shall be playing a mage.. I think that looks better, but if I was a warrior I would go for a sturdy well-balanced sword, a Katana perhaps...!
-
I\'d go for the katars, I\'ll probably go for an assassin like character. My real preferred choice would be the most accurate blowpipe with the most poisonous darts though....
-
I\'d take the most powerful combat gloves
-
We are talking about PS, right?
The bow! YAY! Oh, and two good daggers/short swords. :)
-
hmm... I\'d have to say the bow too :)
-
The best forged Sword for me :D
Dai-Katana or Claymore to be specific :)
-
I\'d go with the sword or the spear.
-
actually I\'d say all of those choices... if the weapons are balanced well with damge, speed, and type (such as slashing, bashing, etc etc) everyone high end weapon should come to about the same use. If the game is properly balanced the weapons would cleary all have their strong points and week points. Of course strange weapons (such as kukris, sickels, etc etc) are off in their own little world.
Weapons of their level (respectively, such as high medium or low quality) should all come to about the same utility. Such a balanced system would promote a large number of character options and keeping every player making cookie-cutter Uber Melee characters.
The same thing can be said for spells. Every way had beeter have some sort of balance to keep player creation, leveling, dualing, and just adventuring interesting. Look at the way every deck stands a chance in Magic... just some are better than others in different situations... unless if you suXoRZ!

Well i think u should\'ve put teh most powerful wzards staff there too. A lot of players don\'t like weapons and prefer the use of magic to combat. Like me for example=)

But this thread is about choosing the best WEAPON from one category.
No place for magic here :P

some people use a staff without using much magic. just to hit the enemy.
btw, I\'d go for the sword, or combat gloves (I love this fighting style since I played Final Fantasy Tactics... didn\'t think a monk could do so much damage with only his hands o_O)
-
id go for the staff but i prefer a malace pounding peoples heads :D ( add it will ya )
*bouncy bouncy AUW*

lol i actually didn\'t noticed that. Monks can inflict big damage without using weapons. They can cast spells such as \"iron hands\", and they are pretty good with martial arts.
btw: add hammers :)

Of course weapons and weapon skills would have to be balanced, else the warriors would all use the most uber weapon in the game.. and then the game would turn out as diablo 2 (the horror!!)
The same goes for spells, although one of the ways could include the most powerful spells of destruction and another the most powerfull summoning and a third the most powerfull healing without that unbalancing the game.. You would just have different \"classes\" of mages...
-
Yes, that\'s why beta-testing is so important, balancing a game is something extremely hard.
Actually I suppose each category of weapon will have its \"master\".
It\'s certainly possible to have unique weapon.
I just hope we\'ll be able to give a name to our weapon (at a certain level/use) ;)
-
What if you could mix \'n\' match weapons? Like, take your super-ergonomic handle off your sword and put a sickle blade onto it? That would add an element of personalisation to it.
-
It would be great if you could customize or upgrade your weapon using different materials to make it stronger or lighter... That would be a way to personalize your weapon to fit your taste and needs.

how feasible is this idea devs? Different \'pieces\' of wepons/armors would have various stats and the combination of the pieces would create items... the items would recieve the accumulative stats of it\'s pieces... and possibly some pieces could be unique and ultra powerful.. while other pieces when used in conjunction add bonus stats as well as their normal stats? That would make a for a very good and original weapons system... that way weapons classes would be all but elliminated (although you could keep them in by what blade is used on the weapon... possibly a new class could be added for weapons with multiple blades).

50$ saying that we will have 50 Narsils at the end of the day :)
