Title: The Mercenary Guild- Looking for apprentices

The Mercenary Guild is a small, and for the past month, inactive guild. That?s about to change? We are are coming back and going on a recruitment campaign; we intend to build our ranks once more. However, we still only want active players who will preferably role-play?

Most types of characters will be accepted into the guild; the main emphasis however, is on combat; by strength, stealth or magic. But other proficiencies will be considered for apprenticeship, excluding merchant type characters.

Hi Zephyrus,

It has really warmed my heart to see that Mercenaries guild is up and at it again. This is a wonderful concept and for those interested in fighting, fun, adventure and diversity of activities this is the place to be!

I also really like the idea that this guild, unlike most does not aspire to become the \"most powerful guild ever\" and \"destroy and rule all others\". This is actually a guild that offers a service, actually many services ranging from protection and guarded escort to the kind of job\'s that does not stand the light of day all that well  8) , to other guilds and individuals.

Man I hope to earn a lot of wealth in Yliakum then I\'ll pay you guys for all sorts of mischief  :P

Good luck. People check out this website and read what mercenaries is all about! I think most would like the concept a lot. Even if you do not join, you ignore the existence of this guild at your own peril  :D .

Thank you Wolfmane, it is good to know there is still interest in the guild.

It\'s a shame you already have the arcane order, your enthusiasm for the game and the guild would make a good addition to our guild.

Just in case you do ever leave the arcane order, us mercenaries would happily accept you...

Way to go Serphet, I hope you do decide to join the Mercenaries. This type of guild will be of great service, and likely importance, to other guilds in Yliakum.

I am happy to see such enthusiasm for the Guild, I am glad to see not only possible future members (Serphet) but also business interest from the gnomes and the arcane order? Most excellent?

So Serphet what happened? I was looking forward to hiring your services  :D  even though it is not very Wizard like - but what the hell we all have our bad days and then evil creeps up on us!

Don\'t worry Zepherus not all that many are made of the mettle that is needed to be a mercenary but I have no doubt that the right type of players will not be able to resist becoming a member of Mercenaries.

Some have the gold, others have the metal!  8)  The latter are the ones you need.

Good idea druke, use the american legal system. :P  Hire a merchant to hire mercenaries to attack your enemies. :)

Yes I like that, wizard hires shady underworld merchant who whitewashes dirty rubies and \"lends\" it to another merchant who is also an undercover mercenary who accidentaly bumps an enemy (ahem qas) of the wizard to hell and gone! :P

Excellent this is just getting more reallistic. Now we have underhanded deals with shady characters who happen to know somebody else who know a guild that may just be able to help you out with that delicate situation involving *Nudge Nudge, Wink Wink* you know who.

Great history Zephyrus, it has a lot of Atmosphere! ope u are going to build further on it, the story has lots of potential for more detail both back in time and in the present.

Also congratulations on your new member! Excellent choice Jaxan, you must have the mettle to wield the Metal  :P .

But seriously, thanks guys. I think there are already some really excellent Guilds for Planeshift, it truly has an excellent community already, and if this is just the result of it being open source, then all mmorpgs should be open source? Hopefully I am not speaking too soon, touch wood.  :)

I believe the guild\'s own members could display them just fine. :) Empanado I posted my stuff at our forums.

Isgrimmer, you are welcome to join The Mercenary Guild and then show off your pretty portrait and spread the word of what awesome people we are in this awesome guild. Of course the AO would then hate us for stealing their members... so stay where you are. :P

Congratulations on your members... although I am only an adept in the Arcane Order, I would like to point out that mages, wizards, and sorcerers traditionally get allong very well with most mercanary groups... so long as you remain orderly

How is Emapanado gonna get anything out of this payment idea (did you get a new computer yet)? I mean of course, you could distribute the crystals/trias throughout the guild, just letting Empanado be happy knowing his uber art is creating funds for The Mercenary Guild... :)

Hmmm....my current character is Shiyar, a male Enkidukai.  But I plan to be a male Klyros as soon as they\'re implemented (and change my name, too).

Would you have need for a dual-weilding medium-armored scout who can fly, breathe underwater, and generally get anywhere?  I mean, a Klyros would be the PERFECT guy for recon... and I also plan to invest skills in hiding and picking locks.  If you want a good infiltrator, I\'m your man.  Or dragon.  Or rather, I will be, once they implement the race ;)

Sorry for the almost months absence, two words; Computing Coursework :P. Anyway I am back now, and we have a new member; Cadoras, bringing us up to the fabled 10 member boundary. I don\'t even have to update and I get members, thats the signiture of quality my friends  :P .

First bit of news; it has been almost exactly 2 weeks since Cadoras joined, it is fair to say he has been very active. And so, despite the fact other members have expressed... certain concerns about his overly eager nature, i have promoted him to initiate, well done Cad.

Second bit of news; we have a new apprentice, welcome Gorek...

Third bit of news, I dislocated and fractured my knee cap yesterday. Anyway it wasn\'t anything interesting that happened to me, I just turned on the spot and rather than turning on the hip or the ankle it felt like I turned on the knee, I fell to the floor in agony, and I looked at my knee and the knee cap was sticking out of the side of my leg... mmm pleasant memories.
