Title: How come.....?
Post by: FinalFantasy on August 27, 2003, 01:16:31 pm: How come whenever I run the game as I am creating an account it keeps crashing and closing the window.......its ssoo annoying..........anyone got a suggestion?

Psclient has caused an error in THING.DLL
Psclient will now close

I go to start programs and then open up the game.....
It goes to a frontpage where i can create...quit.. or connect.... I click connect...I enter my username which is Gunblades then my password which is secret and then it begins to load....when it gets to loading the world an error will come up saying

Psclient has caused an error in THING.DLL
Psclient will now close

I have restarted my computer many times and nothing gets fixed.....

I am on Windows ME and I have over 20 Gigabytes of memory and i think 64 MB of RAM.........

Anyone got an idea of whats happening?

Post by: Commando on August 27, 2003, 01:43:23 pm: RAM is a cind of memory.. I bet u have 20GB harddrive. and 64MB memory.. What ghrapic card do u have? What is the mem on it? 64MB ram is very little, i recommend atleast 256MB ram

1. Too little RAM
2. CPU is OK (1GHz)
3. PS don\'t like Readon
4. Personly i dont like ME recomeding XP

So, upgrade your RAM and get a GeForce or nForce and u should be going, but your current com maby work better with crystal blue.

It should work for Radeon Familys and its for ME.. But i dont garantuie anything.

Post by: Isgrimnur on August 27, 2003, 08:31:12 pm: Hey the game works fine on my system (A bit slow at the moment but nothing major, sometimes freezes) although I did get the same message as you every now and then. I just reboot then shut everything else down using Ctrl, Alt, Dlt except Explorer and SysTray and the game loads fine after about 5 mins max (15mins first load approx)

My system specs:
P3 933MHz
128Mb SDRAM
30Gb Hard Disk
ATI All-in-Wonder 128 pro (Rage128 32MB) Graphics Card
Windows ME

See not very good system but the game does run. To help things I set the set-up file to run the game in:

640x480 Full Screen mode
32 Bit Colour (My Normal Windows Setting)

If the world does load you may think that its locked up in the middle of the Plaza, to get out just hold down run forward and jump a few times and it will eventually respond if not try /spawn in the chat box and try again.( Warning its likely to be very slow with the curser appearing in the chat box)

So I am thinking it is a currupted file must have happened while i was downloading it...........
How can I replace it with a new one?
