Title: Why the New Lag?

Two days ago I was merrily running along in PS when I got a linkdead error.  I thought, OK no problem.  I\'ll just reconnect.  When I did I could not do anything.  The game totally froze.

Yesterday it was working again for about an hour.  Then I got another linkdead message and I have not been able to move since.  I have tried setting the psclient.exe compatability to everything, but nothing seems to work.  I have made no changes to anything and my game is totally uptodate.  

What is happening is that when I finish loading into the game I can see where I am, but the game refreshes only about every 30 seconds.  I gave up after waiting for about half an hour.

System Specs:

P3 866 mhz processor
256 mb ram
6 free gigabytes on the drive PS is on
32mb radeon video card
ADSL connection

I know these aren\'t very good specs, but the game ran near-perfectly until two days ago.  I only had occasional lag just outside the temple and coming out of the dungeons.

I can only think that your Radeon card decided to start hating PS. Most Radeon cards do... I\'m suprised it worked nicely for you in the first place.

I\'m afraid I can\'t really offer any advice for you. Alot of people (myself included) have experienced your problem, but for me at least it just went away after a while and I was able to evacuate myself from the lag-affected area.

Some new developments:

I loaded the game in Software mode and it worked fine for about 2 minutes, except that everything was about twice as dark as it should have been.  When it got so that I couldnt see where I was going I respawned and everything below the sky went black.  

LOL  This seems to be my day, doesnt it?  :D
