Post by: Drilixer on September 01, 2003, 01:29:14 am: Ok Everyone I\'d like to announce my retirement from these boards. :D

I\'m not leaving the Planeshift community! This game roxorz! No, Now that I have been accepted as a WTB Member in the Planeshift Settings Department, I\'ve decided that the only way to keep out of trouble and from going insane is to shut myself up on these forums. You see as a develloper, people might take what I say to heart and would probably hold myself, or even worse, the dev team to whatever I think on issues that I reply to. So, the best way to deal with this problem is to limit the amount of posting that I do. Another problem that is fundamentaly the same is the matter of confidential information from the dev team. You all know how \'big a mough I have\' (note: this is in no way a sexual reference ;) ), so again the only way to limit this is to stop posting.

So that was a bit long-winded... but I think you guys get the message. If you want to contact me, I\'ll still check up on these forums, participate in the Arcane Order, and of course be in the IRC channels.

Post by: Drilixer on September 03, 2003, 10:05:11 pm: hmmm... the setting department can be easily equated to the \'Dungeon Masters\' of the game. Although don\'t get me wrong because devs are free to cross departments... for example Boonet is a 3D dude, but he also contributes to the setting department and the other areas... Settings devs come up with the creatures, cities, quests, and anything else that a player will encounter in game.

Edit: don\'t confuse the \'dungeon master\' analogy with the game masters who help players ingame in other mmorpgs - that is not what I meant.
