Title: Lag Reduction
Post by: SeraphAzuriel on September 01, 2003, 11:13:17 pm
Does anyone know a way for me to make it stop skipping as much? Plus, when I go into heavily populated areas it moves at about 1 frame per ever 10 minutes. I\'m running on cable, Win XP, and a TNT2 video card.

Isn\'t that 4 megs?

You should get a better vid card...

TNT 2 was made in everything from 4 MB up to 64 MB. Yes, you could physically buy a 64 MB TNT2 card!

However, the problems with TNT2 include:

- software transform (uses CPU)
- two texture units only
- no support for compressed textures

I have a TNT2 I never knew it was that bad...

I used the lag fix further down this forum, my game still skips but now it\'s like 3fps which I can live with.

I tried to use the lag fix, but it didn\'t work very well. I realized that I didn\'t have all the folders there should be.

I wouldn\'t worry that much about lag at this point, i mean this game is still in pre-alpha so theres a lot to be fixed including the lag issues.

about the video card, if it makes u feel any better a 64mb Geforce4 MX, plus DSL wont help that much with lag if u ask me
