Title: i cant set up ps.

ok i downlaoded all the part needed, then clicked on the read me first thing and it was all ready. i clicked on pssetup and an error mesage comes up, the \"prefored illegal operation\" i clicked on more details and it said it was haveing problems with aws.dll and then lots of code and stuff. this happened with both downloads for windows (98 buy the way) ok so can anyone help me with this problem??????

First of all, welcome to the PS community! Feel free to wander around and read the posts, mainly the excellent Newbie FAQ from Moggie.  :))

Well, it seems that one of the parts you downloaded is corrupt. To be sure it is not true, you\'ll need to use a MD5 verifier. Goto to the PS download page again (www.planeshift.it/download.html (http://) ) and look for the MD5 tool at the botton of the screen. compare the signature of the files if the numbers posted there. If some is different, you\'ll need to download that part again.

But if all the files are Ok, the only way I (and, I think,  anyone that come to this thread) can still help you is by knowing your system specs (hardware and OS). So, write it down, please.   ;)

i tryed the m5 thing but it just flickerd in and out. my system stuff well i know : windows 98se im not sure of my graphics card but i know its 3d. prosseser is an amd k6-2 400mgz , 16 bit sound card soundblaster. is thier anything else? im not very knolageble in computers sorry. i tryed to download both groups for win and they both had problems. please help.
