Title: plane shift crashes my comp when loading world.
Post by: leach117 on September 12, 2003, 06:29:34 pm
I am running a P3, 312mb ram, 6 mb onboard vid card on a 24k connection, windows ME.  When i try to load up world it loads chars and gui then on world it crashes a a screen comes up saying that it has caused an error in explorer.exe and i must reinstall windows. I don\'t have to reinstall windows but i do have to restart computer and it hasn\'t ever worked. It freezes up in regular mode so i have to run safe mode to just get to the create char or log on screen. Can anyone please help me? also i have the latest version of Planeshift.

I\'ve never heard of such a error, sorry. Unfortunately, it might be that your computer is to slow to run it, especially if you are on a 24 (28?) connection :(

uh oh.. that\'s a baddie... I\'ve gotten that one before (although it was on my old machine...) it busted it up, and I had to reinstall windows to get it to go away.. Windows sux, and that crappy problem is just one reason out of many.. :P

I don\'t know why it should be caused by planeshift though...

The damage has probably already been caused by another program but has only just been recognised now when PS has tried to use the damaged area.

If thats a stupid idea then sorry but its only a guess! :D

Hehe, i have all sorts of errors with this comp like the planeshift one, like my control panel won\'t open anymore and other weird stuff. So all i need to do is reinstall windows and redownload planeshift (which takes quite a while on my connectio, lol)? No problem. Will that fix issue on crashing? Thanks for the help.

Yes, I\'m fairly sure it\'ll help to reinstall windows.. (it did in my case)
