The gold times have come for the Defenders guild, as the great five was formed. Now, in company of others following the path of light, we can start completing our goal. So in this day we send our message to whole Yliakum: we are here, we\'re here to help.
None should be afraid to travel across the lands; This is what we shall do, make the Yliakum a safer place to live. Our path might be hard and full of traps... but we can make it. Together, with help of our friends, our allies... we will achieve everything we wanted. We shall not stand with our hands crossed, while there\'s evil to fight. All people have right to live in peace, with no troubles, nor pain. I promise, as the leader of this brotherhood... we won\'t ever leave our path of light...
So i call out to thee, brave warriors and mages... If yer sharing our path, join us. Together we\'ll get stronger. Evil shall not plague this world no more. The time has come - for the soldiers of light to unite. This is the beginning of the end... the end of infirmity.

Yes I agree completely with Monketh! The Defenders is a great guild and very respected i might add and it would be a great guild to join if u are the type that is wiling to give anything to help another person.. WHO DUSNT LIKE A PERSON LIKE THAT??? *looks shifty at Auran*

Well somehow it wasn\'t announced yet, so here it goes:
Defenders and Rangers are on alliance now :)
I hope that this alliance, which was born from friendship will bring benefits to both sides and will stay for all times :)

I\'m very pleased to see the such a strong and upstanding guild in the Realms of Planeshift.
I will be sure to call upon your services if times of need come upon the Explorers. I\'ll expect a friend\'s discount though :P
The lands are better of for the presence of the Defenders.

The defenders and the Mirth are definitely the guild you\'d want to join if you are a good guy and the rangers if you are neutral (but then again maybe you have a spine:D). Anyhow it is only fair to say that they are an extremely active and rapidly growing guild and I wish them luck.(as long as it doesnt run out and they cross the path of The Cabal at which point they\'ll probably want to hide behind Moogie\'s skirt).
A word to the explorers-
Dont count on being safe. I know explorers are suckers who carry around +5 stuff. DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.....*drooling*..........................;)

You know Auran, it\'s pretty stupid to threaten a powerful, rapidly-growing guild. Especially when you are not powerful or rapidly-growing.

The Explorers made their wealth by being sharp, steadfast and aware. If \"suckers\" were true the \"wealthy\" part would not be.
You seek to have this \'+5 stuff\' stashed safely in your backpack, but if you make an attempt on an Explorer you will quickly find a \'+5\' item protruding from your bleeding chest.

About Defenders being stronger than Cabal: check my first post on first Cabal thread.
Generally it looks like that: we have allies and friends that we can trust, you have lots of enemies, and you can\'t really trust your guildmates.
Edit: I\'m tired of this \"I\'m stronger than you\" fight - it\'s too childish. So say whatever you want, i\'m out.

All you do is trying to ruin Planeshift community. I see it works in guilds forum, since all threads are trashed with your posts. Still some people think your guild is a good idea, which is just sad...
Happily you guys aren\'t taken seriously in-game, which is good, cause i think lots of people keep playing only because of friendly community there...
I just wouldn\'t want to see it get ruined by bunch of jerks...

I see what you mean... but Auran is just roleplaying. Right, Auran? If enough people expressed a true concern for the state of the community, the charade could easily be dropped.
I wouldn\'t find the Cabal amusing if I thought it was seriously trying to take the fun out of the game. If Auran was a real jerk and started flamewars/insulted people left right and center, I\'d get him banned. But I really believe this is not the case.
If the Cabal is becoming a thorn in the side, rather than a refreshing break, talk to him and find a solution to the problem.

Good point. Although after clearly explaining his situation, he may be assuming that everyone else is roleplaying their anger towards him. Perhaps people need to make it clearer that they really don\'t like the Cabal idea anymore?

Obviously Drak you dont like the idea of roleplaying as the Bad guy or you would have done it yourself. Think then why RPGs are so popular. The first and foremost reason is that they allow ppl to lead a complete alternate life without any consequences. Second the similarity to real life and nonlinearity appeal to the Gamer. Given the situation you cannot deny that if someone wants to play an evil character he/she has a right to do so. You dont play RPGs because they represent Utopia. I atleast play for the strife and challenge of it all. So if someone is willing to take all the public hatred and opposition onto himself to add a zest to the game you should thank them rather than scorn them. I bet you couldn\'t bear to be in my shoes right now. I could have started The Saints guild but what then would I have contributed to the game?
Moreover, about newbies, think of us as a motivation for them to play better and gain power and skill quickly :D. The weak are always the ones to suffer. If you oppose that you might just say Nature herself is unjust.
So you\'ll have to admit that if good is essential, evil is primal. Without us what would you guys do? Why would anyone want defenders if there was nobody to defend against ;):).

Everyone has a right to play however they see fit, within the boundaries of game rules. Of course, that makes complete sense. However, everyone else has a right to have fun playing the game. If a few people spoil the fun of any newbies they come across, this can drastically threaten the future popularity of the game, and is not something that should/would be acceptable.

For example
Lets say Game X has first five stages where new players do nothing but learn the ropes of the game and take Happyhappyjoyjoy dance lessons from our resident ballerina Caldazar :D. Do you think anyone would play it?
Look at half-life on the contrary. It became a legend because the aliens try to kill you right from the start. Anyhow I am not one to carry on arguments, and moreover moogie seems to want it and I can\'t say no to her. So i\'ll suggest a compromise. Not here but in the new Cabal thread thats due soon. Plz read and give your vote.

By the way, it\'s funny, but from what I understood, reading all those wishlist posts, people don\'t want free pk in PS. So I quess, devs won\'t make it like in UO: there pkillers can kill u everywhere, but u guys already know that.
Probably, devs will limit PK to certain areas, and will allow duels, if both sides agree on that...
So I don\'t see a way, how jerks can kill newbies...
They can try to kill us, knights, but it won\'t be so easy, right :)

Just remember Auran, if you go overboard on your newb harrassing and make too many ppl miserable your guild and all it\'s members might be banned from PS to ensure a good expierience (sp*). The DEV\'s reserve that right.
Also, how are you immune from infiltrators yourself?
Enough OT already, one response (again, sp*) from Auran and the others each will be enough.

some people think that i shouldn\'t stand against Cabal guild, coz if not for them, Defenders wouldn\'t have anything to do... that\'s foolish thing to say, and here i show why:
First of all Cabal isn\'t only evil guild, and surely there will be new ones in future. Furthermore those guilds could easly be stronger than Cabal, and make bigger danger for my guild.
Example:
2 evil guilds are formed:
dark knights: they are evil warriors with high sense of honour. They aren\'t accepted by society though. So their goal is to show greatness of the dark side, therefore corrupting warriors they meet.
warriors: proud and brave warriors who want to gain as much power as possible. They love to fight and show their strenght. They show their right by winning wars. If someone will stand in their way, he\'ll die by their steels.
Those guilds might make an alliance:
warriors will help knights in showing power and magnificence of the dark path, while knights would be great ally for warriors in their guildwars.
Let\'s add evil-mage guild and maybe some spying guild, and if someone will say it wouldn\'t be much greater threat than Cabal, here\'s my answer: fool!

I must admit, although I\'ve talked alot about them on this thread myself, this is getting silly. Must every new guild thread become a Cabal discussion?
They already have 3 of their own on the very first page of this forum. It\'d be best if people could try to limit Cabal disputes/topics to the newest one of those in future, wherever possible.
If however Draklar doesn\'t mind the current topic being continued here, then that\'s fine also. So, it\'s up to you Drakkie. But for future threads, I\'d prefer it if Cabal discussions stayed in their own place.

Draklar, from what I\'ve learned, being in your guild, is that u\'re not intend to fight against other players,even against evil. that\'s why I think, that u don\'t understand the fun of virtual battle...
(not real battle, \'cos in real battle there are no fun, only death and pain)

I think Drak is afraid that if the Cabal persists he might just end up losing his precious little guild :D. How would he play Mr Big Glorified Defender guy without it? What his fear prevents him from seeing is if not for us his guild would be redundant.
And sure there\'ll be other evil guilds but I bet few of them would reach the standards of the Cabal. We have the finest evil minds of the realms with us. We also would be recruiting in the future and there is nothing preventing future evil incarnates from joining us. They\'ll get an already existing infrastructure and plenty of opportunity for personal glory or notoriety (we are evil remember. Ascension in the ranks through underhanded means doesnt get you kicked out here ;).

Err...I thought you weren\'t evil, just jerks; I thought you said there was a distinction? Sounds like the Cabal is starting to contradict itself...
Perhaps someone should form a counter-organization to the Cabal? Instead of being Jerks, they\'d be Nice. Instead of plotting against guilds, they\'d assist them in all their affairs. This would be the only solution to all these Cabal discussions, actions do speak louder than words, after all.
Now, I\'m sure Drak doesn\'t appreicate this OT discussion in his recruitment thread, so vominos, and take this discussion (if there is anything to discuss) to another thread.

Maybe they untherstand that good guilds can\'t protect members if there isn\'t an enemy. There won\'t be any combat without an enemy. That there won\'t be any place for forcing protection fee\'s from noobs :D. In other words, there would be nothing to do in the game if there weren\'t any evil guilds. If you don\'t like evil guilds, than join a good one and battle them, if you like to act evil, than just join an evil guild and start being a pain in the ass for other players. People like to have oposittion. It makes them feel there is some point in live.
At least that\'s what I think.
P.S. even \"jerk guilds\" can be good for game play (Good players getting commitment to protect noobs). In the end it will all come to haveing something to do I guess.

Draklar, I don\'t know, why u don\'t like Cabal guild as an evil guild, I think it\'s fun to fight with them, \'cos they are gonna do a lot of trouble for u. if u want \"NORMAL EVIL GUIDS\" it\'s ok, but the question is: \"what do u understand by Normal Evil guild?\" by all means, CABAL is a Normal evil guild, since they intend to do evil things like killing good guys, corrupting guilds etc. If u wan\'t \"normal evil guilds\" not to do this, then what kind of evil it will be? Sounds more like good or neutral.
Conclusion: Draklar wanna dance happyhappyjoyjoy.

how did I lie to u? I really wanted and still want to help people. But at least I am not a coward and not affraid to fight against evil when it\'s necessary and when it\'s not.

Attack newbies, making people mad by their stupid (and childish) behavior, put their fake chars in other guilds. I would have much more fun in fighting stronger enemy, like those dark-knights, and neutral-evil warriors. It would be real clash of good and evil. i think we should be against wars, no? If you fight to start wars with evil, then in what way you are better than ones you fight? Wars bring pain, hatred and sorrow. We don\'t want to start wars with all evil guilds. We\'ll go on war only if it\'s only way to keep safety for Yliakum.

That is Mirth\'s philosophy as well. Of course, the fight against Cabal will have very little open fighting. If they carry out their informer threat it will very likely be an espionage war. 8)
We of Mirth will not allow any Cabal members in our ranks.

The 3 gnome-dealers vs. Cabal... that\'s funny. Anyway, jsut as advice, merchants and warriors are separate, be good at one of them.
And if you have to start a war with evil, then what\'s so evil about the evil? Yes, I am agreeing with Draklar. Evil always makes the first move. That\'s why its evil. The first move doesn\'t have to be violent, but it still is first.
