Biggest requirement is patients and understanding.  If you have a nice download speed then give it a try and see. If it is too slow to play at the moment then you may have to wait until the next version which *should* have a new Crystal Space renderer.

At this point *everything* is in development so not everything is going to work 100% or even well on some systems that you think it would.

The most important factor right now is probably RAM.

Generally speaking, people with alot of RAM to spare will experience a smoother game performance. I have 512mb DDR and the performance is average-good in places other than the area of city leading up to the big brown tower, where I frequently slow to less than 1fps and have to quit/reload the client.

I hope you have a 3-d card too cause the software renderer is much slower than accelerated.

Ok i tried again, the screen went to where it was initializing everything like the world and everything, all my pc did was put the red loading button on, it shut down due to virtual memory or something so this is all i should need and i would be able to play right? also the music was cutting out once in a while when trying to load but too so long that it used all the memory n shut itself down :)

Thanks, Richard

forgot to ask if just getting memory will help this problem or do i need something else, and also roughly how much will it cost to get about 512 mb of ram

ram is cheap now - go on ebay or check your local computer store and buy a barrel load of it (but make sure to check your computer first because it\'ll have a max amount of possible ram and you dont want to get too much and waste money).

The amount is just as important as the type as well.   In this case he\'d pry be looking for PC133 SDRAM.  It\'s not very good, but it\'s also probably the cheapest and all this computer could actually utilize.  In all reality though this computer doesn\'t have much hope for running the game except very slowly in software mode as far as I can tell...

Err...Why don\'t you have much hope for this computer? My computer specs out nearly the same (900 MHz, 320 MB SDRAM, XP) and PS runs perfectly, although, I do have a Radeon 8500... Bah, my computer needs an upgrade bad.

Hmm.......as it is now (MB release), I\'d say the reqs are:

- P4-1500 or similar
- 512 megs mem
- Radeon 9500 pro 128mb (or geforce equiv....oops...there is no geforce equiv...)
- 500 megs harddisk.
- directx 9
- opengl enabled drivers

Using those, you usually have a reasonable framerate. You\'d probably get better framerate at later releases, and with a better cpu.
My specs are a bit faster than this, and I have an avg. framerate of 15 outside the temple (at 1024x768), and up to 150 inside, or between buildings.
