OK, I got a new sig, if Graham Rawle visits these forums please say something because I\'m pretty sure I\'m not in breach of copyright.
More at www.grahamrawle.com (http://www.grahamrawle.com)

oh hey look, i got a new sig too. And mine\'s not too big.
-
Mine\'s not that big... It\'s medium I would say.
-
no really, trust me on this. That .. thing is too big.
In fact, it\'s not even a sig. It\'s a big picture that has nothing to do with your char or planeshift.
but don\'t mind me.
-
Aye, that thing is way too big.
If you think that\'s a medium, I\'d hate to see what you think is a large. ;)
-
lol i like it it looks cool maybe slightly too big but ive seen bigger ones
-
It\'s strange to find no rules or guidelines concerning sig image content or size restrictions in the FAQ. I can\'t find the ToU either... anyone have a link?
-
Is this a bit better maybe?
And frankly, I don\'t care if it has nothing to do with anything whatsoever. I like it. And it says lost.
Edit = Hey, it hasn\'t updated...
Re-edit = Yes it has!
-
Yeah that\'s cool.
I still really really want a link to the Terms of Use btw. I\'m getting a deathly, almost embarassed silence from the devs at the moment so I\'m assuming they don\'t actually have one. :P
-
NEWS FLASH!!!
in a new scandel today planeshift dev\'s where stumped by resedent cool girl moogie who asked the simple question....
It\'s strange to find no rules or guidelines concerning sig image content or size restrictions in the FAQ. I can\'t find the ToU either... anyone have a link?
more released when it happens
this is seperot form seperot news on the roof of his own bace house chanel 934 news
-
Seems I was right.
\"The only \'disclaimer\' is the one you get while registering a new account\".
Oh my... :P Very useful.
-
Well I wasn\'t going to waste a new thread just for this ;) , but seeing as it\'s already here...
Any suggestions on my sig?
-
Oops
**closes the whine valve**
tell them to change it, they change it, if they don\'t venge will PM them... don\'t see a reason to make the devs do more work and waste more time, the current real rules don\'t hold up anyways so whats the point in adding more?
-
:D Ummm, sorry to say this, but I don\'t really like that sig, lostprophet. I don\'t know. It seems way too retro. Meh, it\'s your decision, though. BTW, it is too big, though.
As far as Sig rules and ToU...well, I\'m actually drafting up a CoC as we speak. Should be ready soon. Hopefully it\'ll cover all the angles. After all, if there\'s no rules, nobody can break them and thus, they can\'t be punished. ;)
That sigs pretty nice, Xandria. A bit plain, though.

hah, the devs can punish whoever they want for whatever reason, it\'s their board...they could ban the word \"it\" if they wanted to...and all they have to do is make sure the rest of the community does not leave because of it.
-
Hmmm what the heck, I\'ll stick this in my sig maybe now?

Thank you :)
I\'m trying to think of something else to put on it, but I have not a bit of artistic ability in me :( I\'m sure I\'ll think of something eventually.

*sings* Anarchy!
Really, even you can see how silly that sounds, Kel. ;)

How silly it may seem, he\'s damned right. :P
-
 Well, technically anyone in power can do whatever the h3ll they want, but remember a leader is only in power by the consent of the people. ;)
But, what am I talking about? We have good devs here and I honestly don\'t believe they would exercise their autocratic powers without at least minimal reason. :D All I\'m saying is that the CoC would cover their behinds and let them exercise it with written documentation backing them.
This may seem rediculous, but if it didn\'t say murder was wrong people would do it and get off. And besides, I think it was Moogie who said it in another thread, with the advent of slaughterhouse technology (pronounced: In-game Combat) the game will attract scores of low-lifes. On top of that, the current members may start getting physical in their \'relationships\', aka spill blood. All that could combine to cause a very messy, flamey forum experience.
For advance tickets call your local gunsmith today. :D This advertisement brought to you in part by your internet connection...and Whitey\'s toothpaste! If it runs down your chin you know it\'s Whitey\'s! ;)
BTW, can anybody tell me where I\'ve heard \"...Newbs Got You Down?\" before? Oh wait...it was mine. That\'s right, nevermind.
-
Honestly I didn\'t realize it at the time, but I may have subconcsiously remembered that. Yeah yeah now I think I recall it you had something with bullet holes and stuff in it, but this was really just a background I was making that I figured I could reformat.
-
(I don\'t feel like quoting :P )
Hey, I\'m not saying it\'s a bad thing, I\'m just saying I see little point to whine to the devs about it, if you do it yourself, fine, although I do see it as useless...but hey, whatever
Mogura: Kel? I think you just insulted Keldorn...
-
Oops... truth is, I often get you two confused. Sorry Kiern, sorry Keldorn (if you read this). ;)

:D Hey, don\'t sweat it, Wedge.
What\'s the current point of this thread? I think I lost it somewhere. What are we talking about now, so I can post?
-
Well given\' the section of the forums, the topic is really irrlevant, now isn\'t it? And anyway I changed it to something more fitting for me. FEAR MY TEXTURE MOD SKILLS!

No need to apoligize. But next time you get confused, remember that I\'m the handsome looking one. The ugly bum is kiern. Should be easy after that.
-
Just coz\' I felt like it, I changed my sig again. It\'s PlaneShift\'s first unofficial mod-pak!
-
In all honesty, I have not had sigs visible for ages now?I may be wrong but most devs are probably in the same boat.
That being said, you are right we currently need to have a code of conduct page for the forum.
It will probably be done before CB gets released so all the new people coming cause of that can have something to point to and say ?I did not violate that? and or ?I did, but so and so did it more then I did, you are picking on me?
Anyway?any of you have any good ideas for a code of conduct thing for the forum?post it on a new thread I guess?we might get it done in short order that way.
-
Well, here\'s a slightly edited one taken from another forum. I guess they\'re all basically the same, so you could just add/delete things from this and change a few details to speed up the process. I\'ve already read through and altered it for use in our forum.
Think there\'s anything missing? I didn\'t write any of these myself and I\'m useless at being thorough. :P
[Edited: I wrote #9. The original post didn\'t have a signature rule and that was the most important thing!]
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Code of Conduct
Remember that there are people behind all the nicknames. Act towards them as if they were to knock on your door the next moment. Be respectful, kind, positive and polite.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A post is your nickname, the subject of the post, the main text of the post, your personal location and the signature of your post.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Foul Language is not allowed. This includes any word that is considered degrading to the person or thing it is describing, any profane word or any combination of characters that will give immediate associations with such a word. (e.g. fok, f**k, fuk)
2. Do not Flame. Flame, a post that has within it the purpose of personally insulting or putting down a person or idea. This includes the unfair treatment of newbies, i.e. insulting or degrading new players purely because they have not been around or played as long as you have.
3. No Out of Context posts. A post is out of context when it is not in accordance with the topic of the thread, or doesn\'t respond to other posts, or continue the ongoing discussion, in the thread.
4. Racist, Religious or Sexual Offense is strictly prohibited. Any degrading remark concerning any one person\'s race, religion, nationality, gender or sexual preference or ability, or that in general, is strictly prohibited.
Older forum members should remember their position and not use age as an issue to offend younger posters.
5. Pornographic content. Any pornographic content, or referenece to a site with pornographic content is prohibited.
6. Spam. A number of posts that do not violate any of the above rules, but that do not have any content whatsoever is considered spam and will be deleted. It is also spam when the same post is posted a number of times or when the message has no purpose or meaning.
7. Language. All posts in this Forum should be in English, or with an English translation of the text in a foreign language.
The only exceptions to this will be if there is a moderator fluent in the language of the thread who is willing to take on the responsibility of moderating it.
8. All thread-titles should describe the intended discussion in the thread as well as possible. Any thread title which is in violation of any of the above stated rules may be deleted or the thread title changed by a moderator.
9. Signatures. No signature should be in violation of the rules stated here. The size of signatures should not exceed 500x150 pixels. Animated signatures should not be over 200kb in size as this will decrease the performance of the forum and cause slow page loading.
10. A discussion in a thread between two posters that is of no interest to the community is to be conducted by other means of communication, such as using the forum\'s Private Message function or external means such as email.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
(End)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, just incase this is plagerism, here\'s where it came from: http://www.revman.com/toa/atanfiles/forumrules.html
-
looks good to me although I propose that we add some extra rules for the older people to laugh at such as:
Extra Rule 1. If you choose to Link with the noobies (n00bs are a different matter) then wyou will be banned and ridiculed.
Extra Rule 2. If you are capable of having more posts per day than Drilixer\'s record 50-something posts/day then you ought to be dragged out and beaten :D
Edit: I\'m notactually sure what my highest number was although I am sure it is higher than 50/day
-
Once I checked and it was 32. Jeepers.
-
Ok, I\'ve added a bit about treating newbies nicely under the Flaming rule.
-
I hope you weren\'t insinuating anything at me moogie, I\'m good as gold around newbies :P
-
I wasn\'t insinuating anything at anyone lostprophet, what made you think I was?
Btw, I said I didn\'t want to be the one who creates the code of conduct... so somebody adopt it, quick! *shoves it at Drilixer and runs away screaming*
-
Wait a minute...if Moogie can steal that makes it okay, right? :D Yay!
That CoC was pretty unproffesional. There was a lot missing. CoC\'s are usually huge things as long as your arm chock full of sentences with half meanings and big words that don\'t mean anything. :D I was working on one, geez. Patience, people, patience!
-
Didn\'t we also used to have a certain standard about what was appropriate in terms of names and sig images, which we have let slip? Shouldn\'t sigs such as your favourite high performance car or bikini clad star of the silver screen be off limits for a game that is supposed have it\'s roots in the realm of a medieval style fantasy role play?
Just something to consider for a code of conduct depending on how strict you want the forums to ultimately be.
