Title: skinning contest!

hi i guess to pass the time till the next release im gona be doing some skinning, so if anyone would like to do a skinning contest, post your skins on this page and next wednesday we could all take a vote and choose the best skin.

just an idea, and if interested, its 20 rubies to enter, and all the rubies put in go to the winner (i guess we have to trust the participants to pay up)

changed it to red skinned, by popular demand

Anyway, no I don\'t think you can modify the texture like that, because it\'s my guess they used an exporter to output the mapping done in a 3-D program, and I don\'t even know where that data is, much less how to edit it. And editing the mask file won\'t do anything, that just defines the layers for the customizability.

Try putting links to them on your website and refer people to that part of the website, crude, but it should work. Elsewise I\'d imagine you may have to find another host for the images. I use Village Photos (http://www.villagephotos.com) for my stuff. The free account is very small with just 5mb daily bandwidth (which ironically it just went over), so you have to compress a lot, but it allows remote-linking and everything.

I know there are some imperfections in it... some are my fault and some (mainly the seam in back) are the way the texture was in the first place. But given\' the fact I can\'t draw squat and did this entirely with digital editing I think it\'s pretty good :)

Infact there\'s loads of pictures posted in this thread that I can\'t see, and I really want to. :(

If you\'re stuck for a good host, use MyImgs (http://www.myimgs.com) or even Geocities (http://www.geocities.com). If you decide to use Geocities, make sure the filesizes are low and you rename the .jpg or .gif extension to that of a .txt file. By doing this you will be able to post the pictures and have people actually see them.

(well, I hope it was helpful to somebody ;) )

No offense to the skinners but imho atm theres none that are really worthy of it... *cringes* dont hate me.

As i saw atm, I think most of us could do something more impressive, but more time and patience is necessary than whats available =)

Dameon, very nice. You tie with Kwartz for that in my opinion. It looks like a proper suit of armour, not just a load of textures pasted randomly. Good job! :)

Thanks Mogura, Just about everything of that armor is origional except for the chainmail on the arms and legs.
