Can you say \"Off Topic\"? :P
Chradraf: Send the skin guide file to Mogura@Fragnetics.com, I\'ll have a go at skinning that creepy-looking spidie. :)
-
yeah, unwrapping can be hard. can\'t help you there, I need to learn myself. Try looking at webs tutorials about unwrapping.
-
Hey, Chrad. What program was that made in?
I might be able to help you, but only if you give me the magic answer. ;)
-
Looks like Milkshape3D to me.

-
yep, milkshape 3d! my shareware expired today so i couldnt save my 30 minutes of making a skeleton for it (ARGH!!!)....milkshape registration is $25, so im pissed.
at age 15 without a job, cant afford that
o well, sending the .mdl to mogura and anyone else who wants to try skinning it
-
if you could export it as 3dmax model, I would try.
In case you do, sashok20@yahoo.com , send it.
-
cant export anything cuz the registration ran out... got my dad to pay the $25, and the registered copy will be available to me in 2 business days, and then i can export it as a 3dmax .mdl.....until then i only have the .ms3d model
-
Ah! If you can export it to 3ds max then I will be wanting one. :D renamonjedi@hotmail.com Be sure to put something recognizable in the subject field as it will otherwise be deleted. ;)
-
reading up on animating my spider =) when i get my registered copy of milkshape, gonna build/attach a skeleton to it and make it move like a real spidey! If anyone has any good sites that help people learn about unwrapping models for texturing, plz send them to soad_887@hotmail.com
-
ok, got the registered version, can export it now as a 3dmax file. send me your e-mail address and i can give it to you
-

Yes, it\'s a quite nice low-poly modeller. It\'s easy to use and understand because it doesn\'t have all the functions of those big scale modelling programs like 3ds, maya or whatnot.
It just focuses on simple low-poly modelling. You can\'t do any high-poly work in there though, it would crash. I\'ve tried that once, milkshape didn\'t like that model one bit.
It\'s nice if you are just learning to model.
-
yea its good for modelling for cs, quake, etc. i just use it so i can get used to modelling and get a good grade in comp graphics this year (even though my school uses bryce 5)
-
*smacks forehead*
you said you are in highschool?
I\'ve been dieing for a modeling class in our school but the district said that traditional art is more important than \'a passing fad\' like modeling and rendering!!!
-
that sux! the only problem was i had to take a year of \"traditional\" art to qualify to take this class. its really fun tho, when we have substitute teachers we just play wc3, sc, diablo, and worms armageddon on the comps =)
-
I got to use 3DS MAX to make artwork for 2-d game development in high school, mwa hahahahaha. And now that I\'m in college I\'ll be learning Maya for using in 3-D game development... school in Western Washington is teh awesome. Jeese Dril, you must live somewhere out in the boonies if they think modeling and rendering are a \"passing fad\".

i live in ohio. our teachers no nothing about computers. except the art teacer lets me do whatever i want with photoshop stuff we do because im more advanced and used to it. i could teach that class 3x better with room to spare. and save a bus of small children falling off a cliff. in 1 class perio O_o?
-
Ooooh South Carolina.... I\'m sorry ;).
-
Wedge: South Carolina itself is awesome - but our school boards are too conservative/thick headed to do anything fun
-
(completely off topic)
I used to live in south carolina when i was 4 or 5....all i remember are tons of snakes and my brother getting bitten. nice place tho, but too many fire-ants
-
(still off topic... but on topic with the last post :D)
fire ants are rough.. but once you are out of elementary school they seem to be alot easier to avoid :)
