Well I was getting the Linkdead thing and was reading the topic at the top and I though the ip listed there (203.81.47.27) was to go into the Server: along with account and password. Now I dont know what is supposed to be in the server box. Help please.

Well got past that. And I logged in, no Deadlink.

But got to \"INITILIZING WORLD\"

stayed there music played and NOTHING HAPPENED.
So I alt ctrl delete says it isnt responding. Uh, help.

Yeah, it can take up to 2 hours on your first connection for PlaneShift to recalculate its lighting variables according to your specific machine setup. At least, that\'s what I\'ve been told...

Connect to the server and don\'t touch a thing for at least 2 hours. Don\'t alt+tab, don\'t ctrl+alt+del... just go watch a movie and come back to it later. If you\'ve connected by then, congratulations. You\'ll never have to sit through that long wait again. If PS has crashed to the desktop or your machine has frozen completely, then you have a problem.

Yay I got through it quickly and guess what?

The game runs horribly(unplayable).

i would think that would be enough whiter but im nto real sure what the minimum is on ram!

I\'d personally say 256mb is the minimum... many of the people who post this kind of problem have less than that amount.

I have 512mb myself and the game works nicely, most of the time.

That is the IP of the old server ( before fragnetic changed over ). The right IP is  203.81.47.74.  This is part of the danger of using the IP instead of the name.  The IP can change but the name ( planeshift.fragnetics.com ) should always point to the right machine.
