Okay I know you are supposed to look through the forums first but I didnt. There is just too many things. Anyway as youve guessed I think we should be able to get drunk. It would be could your view could wobble around making you go anywhich way andur character would just keep mumbling things. And there are prob other cool things that I havent thought of that could happen. Anyway I think it would be cool.

That\'s a great idea.... Why the heck are those pubs for if you can\'t even get drunk.... aside from maybe gambling if there\'s such a thing... or for the waitresses if any.
I think it\'ll be worth it just to see wobbly people coming out of bars.
-
Pubs serve the purpose of bringing together 3 or 4 strangers together for a wild adventure..... ahhh D&D
-
this same topic is only about 1 or 2 pages back, theres nothing u can say that hasnt been said before by the looks of things =)
Remember kids getting drunk; Its not big and its not clever.
-
I assumed that would be a part of it anyway. Getting drunk would be a nice effect. Maybe losing control of movement would be the effect. Any key that u press would do a random movement key, if that makes sense.
-
Will it be in the game, more then likely, will we spend too much time on it, not likely.
It adds little to nothing to gameplay and while fun the first couple of times, looses it?s novelty really really fast.
This of course only leaves out the ?drunken competitions and combat arena fights? but in reality we will likely just cast a really drunk spell and have those.
In EQ is was a bust after the first year and never really popular before that. If anyone has a game to say it was implemented in a great content adding and game effecting way please say so. And I am not talking redneck rampage either.
-
I\'d hate to see the EQ-style drunkenness, the staggering (we see enough of that, and only because of lag), the slurred speech, the shouts of \"Heeeyy lllook, Iii\'m ddrrrunnk!\". Although, I certainly would like to see beverages that temporarily decrease some stats associated with intelligence and common sense (usually called Intelligence and Wisdom.) These beverages wouldn\'t have any real use, other than RP aids, but wouldn\'t force you to stagger down the street or speak with slurred speech(although you\'d certainly be free to RP that.) Sometimes, such beverages also increase strength in RPGs, but that\'s always seemed a bit stupid to me.
-
lol, this would just be a bit of fun, and while it wont be much fun for a old-timer, newbies will always enjoy it.
-
Me personal enjoy the EQ style of drunkeness. It fits in pretty good to add a little comic relief to the game.
-
In my first guild in EQ, one of the things they made you do when you joined was \"Drink your level\". (If you were L20, you had to drink 20 drinks.) :-)
It was very fun and just an excuse to get drunk together and bond a little bit through silliness.
I do agree it rapidly got boring, so it would be fun to figure out some gameplay effects drunkenness could have so that we have a reason to put it in the game.

Wonderful, I\'m all for giving people more reasons to drink, as long as you make sure you buy all your drinks from me, you can\'t trust just anyone to provide you with quality beverages you know ;)
-
you could set it so that people who wanted to enter berserker state at lower skill levels, would need to drink an amount of alcohol (perhaps with some other things in it  ). The vikings did so back in ye old days, and I just think it looks cool to slurp down an entire drinking horn just before battle ;) :P
-
LMAO, the vikings killed alot of their own when they did that as well. I think I\'m gonna stay away from any drunk person carrying a sword. :D

LOLZ :D:D Well here we have a true fact :D
-
in atitd you can make wine and im fairly sure you could get drunk. wich would have been cool if making wine meant anything to me i would have made more than what wasw needed to trade items
-

Sorry, Kada, but I\'m going to have to disagree. Half-Pint\'s Inn will also provide top quality intoxicating beverages. Everyone should buy their drinks from Kada-el and Half-Pint\'s taverns!
-
It *might* be fairly easy to apply an drunk effect.
Because when I run ps with -fov= (5), I get some kind of \"tunnel fision\" if you make it a bit higher (don\'t know exact number) it looks like you are wathing the game being drunk :D)
At least this works on my pc.
This might be something to look into for devs :)
Btw. -fov makes the game unstarteble in the regular version for me (sig fault at boot
), it works for me in the devel version though.
-
And it would also be cool if the had a fighting room in the back of pubs where you could wager on who would win.

hmm.. where\'d you get that info??
The berserkers were generally very skilled at directing their frenzy at the enemy, and not at their own ranks...
but you could add this as a factor to berserk, so that you might turn on your friends if you fail a skillcheck...
-
Reasons, reasons, why does everything always have to have a point in it?
Some things you just add for fun, and a tavern without alcohol and fights is just as stupid as a dwarf being a teetotaller :P
-
99 bottle of beer on the wall 99 bottles of beer take one down pass it around
-
Lol that reminds me of Arzo and me at camp...We started at 1000bottles till i stopped and killed everyone who dared to start again :D
-
*well let\'s continue*:D
98 bottles of beer on the wall 98 bottles of beer take one down pass it around
-
97 bottles of beer on the wall 97 bottles of beer, you stumble and fall, into the wall, only one bottle of beer on the wall...
I\'ve heard this stupid song way to many times to let it continue...
-
YOU CHEATER!!!! :D
It would have made one hell of a spamthread :D
-
Perhaps, perhaps... but I wouldn\'t try too hard to spam, or you\'ll end up with the same fate as the other poor spammers around here  :P:P
-
lol damn you guys
-
I\'ll shuv in my 2 cent\'s worth seeing the other getting drunk thread was my evil doing.
I would love to see it in the game as a short lived novelty, some people for some odd reasons can\'t stand having somthing in a game if its just a novelty and has no real point apart from being fun to do, but if you ask me there just party poopers and are no fun I mean its not like we\'re really getting drunk i\'d never do that its just a fun in game thing.
Having said all that I\'ll also say that we did come up with some good things beer and other fermented vegetable drinks could be used for to try and get the party poopers to go away if your bothered to check the other thread, which you won\'t be but anyway.
-
Here Here, cheers to beer. Getting drunk and fighting wat more do you need in a game or in life.
-
Way your too cool for your own good and about the tunnel vision, well i\'ve done it and I think that the programmers should go with it!
A quote of my on from my guilds web site http://www.freewebs.com/sarios
\"The tape is cut and the beers a flowin\'\"
-
THX MAN( I know its true) same to u sarios.
