You\'re dutch right?

Well then just go to http://www.large.nl and look in the online catalogue. They\'ve got a lot of gothic metal bands.

Don\'t be a smart ass although you are right, Xalthar  :D . But what does matter is that those bands are good enough to be recommend to Izzy.

I love Nightwish/Within Temptation. Their music is haunting, melodious, but emotional and powerful... and gothic of course, what more could I ask for? :D

I can\'t suggest any other gothic metal bands because my music interest is fairly limited. However, if you\'re willing to check out my all-time favourite band EVER, go ahead- it\'s Nine Inch Nails.

Favourite NiN tracks:

The Great Below - Slow, emotional lyrics, depressive.
Heresy - Strong beat and music, powerful lyrics, angry.
The Perfect Drug - Fast paced and trippy, happy in a very weird way.
Closer - Raw (adult) lyrics, regular beat, sometimes angry.
March of the Pigs - Just weird. Fast paced, shouted lyrics, but dies suddenly a couple of times into an innocent little piano tune and happy words.

I\'ve been looking for more like them, maybe I\'ll try some o\' those ones there. *points at the caviar*

Heh, actually my Music list goes about like this:

1. Nightwish
2. Linkin Park
3. Rush
4. Coldplay
5. NiN
6. Our Lady Peace
7. KaZaA :P

That is my entire music history right there.

Maybe I\'ll try some diff Goth Rock ones and get some new favourites. :D

You should definately try out After Forever. It\'s a dutch Gothic Metal band, i went to a concert not that long ago, and they are ----*WOW*---- :D

BTW jedi, Kazaa in your music list???? :D:D:D I think i\'ll have to add it too then... :D

NiN is nice, they have various songs, from calm songs to verrrrry brutal ones...like it :))

Bah, it\'s all more or less sissy music... :P

And I like being a smartass when it comes to genres.. :]

Death metal is the one and only genre that has it all.. melody, brutality, guitar-solo\'s-that-make-you-drool, and drums! oh the drums!! :P

*drifts away, listening to Finntroll and In Flames*

I like most of the metal genres actually :))

Well, I have to admit, both Gothic and Metal have their good points, and I like the combination of the 2 very much :D
But there are many kinds of music I like  :]

Btw: Beat you to it, Izzy*dot: I became an ASS first ;) (Not that it matters, it\'s quality, not quantity! :D)

Vintersorg?? that\'s one of my favourite bands!! I love their texts, plus I sing them pretty well since they are almost in my native language (I do speak swedish sometimes :P)

Great band!!

Yeah, I know a little Tristania.. Tepsu showed me some of their music..

[Edit] I\'m pretty sure Rob is Heavy.. so in a way he fits under this discussion, since it\'s drifted somewhat away from gothic :P [/edit]

Ebony Tears was also a brilliant swedish band..! You should check them out...

Heh, well being in an amateur band that plays death metal sometimes involves singing, especially when you\'re the frontman  :P

O...Now I got it :D Matey you should get some of yer music online so that I can listen to it and tell you it\'s REAL good :D:D Well...Do you sing or do you scream? :P

WOW Ebony Tears sounds...sounds...WOW :D

I told you they were good ;) Especially \"Nectars of Eden\" and \"Opacity\"

Well, we haven\'t recorded anything (hence the amateur labeling) :P So I can\'t get it online... But my vocal is \"death\" (screaming as you put it :P), I compare it mostly to Anders\' vocals (frontman in In Flames), and to a melodic, slightly lighter voice than Vintersorg..

As for all you other people, mainly interested in gothic bands, check out:
\"The Wounded\", \"Imperia\", \"To Elysium\" and \"Shadows Dance\"

The number of superb Swedish metal bands, is simply breathtaking...! :D

I like \"A handful of nothing\", the title reminds me of myself in the earlier days :))

About your group, I would like it if you would keep me informed about it :D I can get you a big group of listeners here in Belgium :] As you describe it, it will be GOOD, but I\'ll have to hear it first.

\'To Elysium\' sounds cool :D

Well, when I move to Aalborg in a year (or two :P) I\'ll probably get a lot more time to sing.. So perhaps it\'ll get more serious then.. but for now, it\'s nothing special.. So let\'s wait and see ;)

Sounds cool! :D But I\'ve still got 2 years, or so, before I can move, so our seriousness has lots of time to improve.. ;)
