I\'m leaning towards Circle of Legends, but I hear that Explorers is a bunch of cool people. I just can\'t refuse the idea of a giant crystal sculpture on a roof :-) :-)
I\'m a human, generally a good person... I\'m a modified Knight with longsword instead of Axe. :-) Anyone have any ideas? :-\\

Excellent idea Draklar.
Not every guild that posts here is active ingame (such as Black Order and others) and not every active, ingame guild makes posts.
The single best way to choose (in my opinion) would be to read up on the guilds mentioned above, then spend a lot of time ingame getting to know people. There are a lot of outstanding characters in Plansehift and I have no doubt you will find a guild full of them if you but look.

The first thing I\'ll like to point out is that never believe surveys. They tell you nothing.
The last survey that I saw told me that \"all bearded men are happy\" and the one before that said \" most politicians are honest\".
(moreover I wasnt included in this so called survey. Hence the resentmentX(:P).
The best thing you can do read all the threads in the forums. That\'ll give you an idea about who is serious about their guilds and who is kidding around. Most threads dont tell you jack about the guilds except the starter post.
They will contain details of members visiting poland, people\'s unhealthy obsession with wftpcutekitties, killing germans, why illyria is actually a man, why the members of the guild think that they are the coolest, useless one-liner discussions about imaginary scenarios, ppl holding races for crystals which you can find lying around in the gutter anyway, which guild the devs have joined(that could be useful though), what the guild would do if the members finally found the time to move their asses, guilds making alliances because the other guild leader is their buddy from school or summin\'.
I admit that I also post things to confirm my image of a evil jerk and general brickbats(but that\'s beside the point as you are a good guy and wont join me anyway. But if you change your mind go through the cabal thread both first and second).
Anyway the game wont tell you much either as mostly you\'ll find an uncanny similarity between it and a chat room. You might hear Draklar asking Bobodar if he\'s a dev. and generally fantasizing about cheese. Or you might hear ppl shouting things to each other which have absolutely nothing to do with the game. This will also not enlighten you about the guilds in any way.
there is however another way out. You could post in the newbie help requesting our resident Moogster for advice. Her advice is certain to be the fairest and most rational. I am also good but currently I am blinded by rage at not being included in the survey. How could they ignore the most hated guild in Yliakum?

Windwalker, you might want to think about removing the quest walkthrough from your website. It has been strictly made clear by the dev team that no info be given out about the quest(s)... especially a step-by-step walkthrough.

What type of character are you? We are still looking for strong minded mages. If you are drawn to magic(even dark necromancers, like me). We can use you. Keep in mind, we must accept you. Once you are accepted, you still must prove yourself, verbally and actively, as an active member. Do not fall to the cabal\'s level of existence, unless you are an \"ASS-O\". In which you would probably be accepted, hands down... they could use the membership, I guess. BUt, heed my warning, if you go through the cabal,.. make no attempts to infilitrate our guild. I will cut down the cabal.... mainly the moron which created it. :) Death to Auroa(sp?)!! As for the guild... I have no sympathy for you but will gladly glide you across my blade.

Guilds are about friendship and having fun, so don\'t let anyone convince you otherwise or you might end up being bored in a guild of strangers. :)

What could possibly be boring in Mirth Guild? We have spots open for characters of any type other than rogues and assassins. Our goal is to explore the world and have fun, while being helpful where we can. 8)

Explorers seems to be a very nice bunch of ppl and it is definitely one of the best organised guilds around.

Seriously though, i\'ve had a lot of good laughs about you evil role-playing, keep it up. As far as the Guilds Survey is concerned, thank you for the praise and positive comments 8) . Once the cabal reaches at least 6 members you are welcome to send me your data. The cabal is a refreshing idea for a guild and I would be happy to add it.

It certainly is interesting to have a guild that deliberately annoys everyone. You just know they\'re signing their own death warrants. 8)

I\'m curious as to how you are going to \"destroy\" their guild... only the guild leader can disband it, but they show great teamspirit, so I\'m not sure you can force them into doing that...

well having lots of guildwars without any allies means they will be getting killed pretty often. If they won\'t like it then i guess they will be leaving :P

Why should a guild without allies have a hard time?? Perhaps they won\'t get helped out in guild wars, but we don\'t know how that system works yet... Perhaps only one alliance can be in a war at a time, or perhaps only 2 guilds at a time.. There are many factors to consider, many of which aren\'t official yet...
And I still don\'t believe that other guilds should have the power (nor opportunity) to abuse members of another guild to the point of breakup...

how do you know that? we could be anywhere. i can assure you that my own char extremely well discuised(sp?) and i see no reason why this shouldnt be the case with other members of cabal

Auran just look at the Guilds survey, you will see what the format is and what info we use. You can submit your info by mailing it to me. You could copy the html code from one of the guild profiles and just change it with your own data if you wish or just write it down in a mail.

I\'m having a bit of difficulty in finding a guild that would match my chosen profession and affiliation.
Are there any active guilds who would welcome a bard who has a good heart, tempered by the realities of harsh necessity? I am chaotic good, with a chosen profession of musician. I learn quickly and am willing to share wealth, knowledge, and whatever else will benefit the guild as a whole.
I am in no hurry, but would like to find a guild before combat begins. The sword of a friend in a time of dire need is beyond value.
And yes, I am a noob, but don\'t let that affect your decision too much... as I said before, I learn quickly.

Edit: Every guild should have a bard for entertainment and morale, not to mention I\'m a bard in the traditional way. Meaning, I can do much more than simply entertain!

Ordo Illuminatis has a whole section of the guild devoted to the finer arts of the Planeshift world, bards and artists from all walks of life.
Getting in isn\'t necessarily the easiest thing to do, as our recruitment policy is by invitation only, but have a look round our site if you\'re interested and get to know us on our forum and you may eventually get proposed by an existing member :)

Hmm... is Mirth a part of Ordo Illuminatis? The bbs registration is the same... thought maybe Mirth was the artist sub-group you were referring to.
Either way, I can\'t register for either bbs... upon clicking \"submit\" it simply returns me to the original register page.

i fugure that anyone who asks for help to find a guild isn\'t worth having, if the person cant take the time to check out the guilds himself i don\'t want him, and theres lots of guild lists out there including the one on kada\'s site, the fso site, and the arcane order put out a list of them in the guild survay, figure out where u belong youself!

You can never be sure about that. Nietal might turn out to be a very valuable member.
It\'s better to know what guilds might want specific type of character and then choose one that looks best for you. And it\'s wise thing to do to ask for advice those that are more familiar with all the guilds.
Nietal: I\'d advise you to check the Mirth guild :)
