Title: I CANT DOWNLOAD IT

i get to 99% and it says something about a file an for me to open it or to open it using something else (like u would a document, not to finish) so whats wrojg iwth it?


also those were the demo versions weres the full version????

Hmm... Do you mean you get the popup with three choices:
 - open
 - open with
 - save

If you haven\'t the save options but you trust your browser, choose \'open\' and it will ask you for saving or if your window is full of @?,($qdfs, wait a moment then choose File -> Save As.

( Note that posting your OS can be a good idea. It\'s really hard to understand a problem when you don\'t know if it happens on Linux or Windows )

And for the full version, the game is in early devellopement but free. so the \'demo\' is all that you can get for the moment.

ok now when i download it itgoes throiught all the way but nothing shows... do u have any idea whats wrong now?

There are 5 parts and a reassembler.  You need to download all 6 files in to the same folder then run the reassembler to make the installation file.  Then, after you\'ve done that, run the installation file and go through the setup.  After that it\'s installed but you should update it using the updater.  You can do this by going to start -> All Programs -> Planeshift -> Planeshift Updater.  Let it go through it\'s thing and it will ask you to push a key when it\'s finished.  Then, once that\'s done, you can run the setup to configure it the way you want it...it\'s in the same place as the updater or you can just create a character and play.  Have fun.

ok sry for all the posts but what it says is windows need to know what created this file befor it will work then it has 2 options the files name is like FILExt

ooooooooooooooooo lol i thought u only had 2 down load 1 so if i downloaded say 1 then 4 how do i fix it?

oh yah do u all have any idea when the full will come out?

You don\'t want to open the files seperately, that\'s what the reassembler is for.  Once you run the reassembler it will make the exe installation file and that\'s what you use to install it.

lol, seems ya responded to yourself before i got a chance to last time.  Well, all you have to do is just download the other parts you don\'t have, or just redownload them all if you don\'t know which part you do have.  Just make sure that all the parts and the reassembler are in the same folder before you run the reassembler.

Sorry, forgot to answer your second question.  No one really knows when the full version will come out.  I\'ve heard rumors that the next release (Crystal Blue) will be out this winter around December/January, but they are just rumors and for all anyone knows it could take longer or maybe less time.  What we have now is what the devs have completed...they have a LONG ways to go yet ;)

I played RS for about 2 hours before I dropped it.  What we have right now is a tech demo showing what the game engine is capable of.  There is 2 quests, but there is no reward for doing them and talking to NPC\'s is very frustrating right now.  There are also 3 types of crystals that you can find (ruby, emerald, and diamond).  If you get enough of those you can buy a weapon, but they are very expensive.  Here\'s a link to the merchant page:

There is no combat as of yet so the weapons are just for show.

so rubys emerolds and diamands are money in sorts like copper, gold, and platnum? and these wepions u can buy arnt the cheapest rite and lastely u play with others at the moment or is this just a single player?

Yes, as of right now, the crystals would be considered a form of currency, however later on the REAL currency will be tria.  The tech demo is online and you do play with other people, it will always be this way.

yo i just down loaded all 5 of em then kept the one screen up the last one and then downloaded that last thing u told me to it gave me a retangular black screen (like 1/3 my screen) it was there for like 1/10th of a second and disapeared something happen?

you should have 6 files in total, the 5 parts and the reassembler, if you have all the files, the reassembler will create a new file, which is the installation file.  If you don\'t have this new file, check and make sure you have all 6 files.  If you have all 6 files and it still didn\'t work, then I don\'t know what\'s wrong.

You may have accidentally set it to automatically open it, try right-clicking the link and choosing save as.

It\'s not supposed to stay...just make sure you have a file named \"PlaneShiftV0.2.010.exe\"  That\'s the installation file, the one you actually use to install Planeshift.

Sorry, didn\'t see that.  Did you run the updater?  I have never had that problem before so I\'m not sure what it is, but perhaps if you haven\'t ran the updater yet, that could fix the problem.

Ok, so Planeshift isn\'t in your start menu, that more than likely means it wasn\'t installed.  You can try reinstalling it by running \"PlaneShiftV0.2.010.exe\" again.  If you do NOT have that file, then go to this page and follow the windows os directions carefully:

Sorry, after all that I\'m probably as confused as you are...my best advice would be to follow the directions on the link I posted and if it still doesn\'t work, browse the forum in hopes of finding an answer to your problem.  Sorry I wasn\'t much help...
