What we need atm is a map.... i seem to get lost quite eaisly.... has anyone made one? or is one avaliable?
-
I think a map might be a bit much, at the moment. Hydlaa mainly consists of 2 roads and a few major areas, so once you\'ve learned the city (which should only take an hour or two of hard exploring), its hard to get lost. I recall there were a few mapping projects, but I haven\'t heard anything of them. So, to answer your question, no there\'s no map; but usually people are more than willing to show you around if you ask ;)

I agree. Since the map(s) are fairly huge, I would like to see a mini-map and perhaps a compass system implemented, with a friend/guild member tracker for the mini-map.
The resizable chat window is nice, but I find the fonts hard to read and a bit too big. Will the fonts be made a bit smaller and perhaps make the chat window a tad more transparent? it uses up a lot of visual real estate.
What\'d be nice too would be floating text boxes over each character, with the option to turn off. They don\'t need to be huge, and could indicate HP bar, as well as perhaps a symbol or flag indicating guild/party members.
However, I\'m sure someone\'s made these suggestions before. :D

I\'m not 100% sure about this, but I think that you can change the size and font in your PS-folder. Dont mess with anything though, not sure ;)

Nobody is working on anything like this so we may look at it later or we may not.

The entire gui system has be re-written and should be very customizable to the point where you can select your own fonts/colours/backgrounds/borders etc. Will also be able to hot key windows on/off.

Something like this is in progress. Will probably be the same as every other game out there with the player\'s name ( and maybe guild/group/status ) attached over their heads.

Oh no, that would so much ruin roleplaying if players run around with flags and names hanging over their heads. If you want to know someones name, you ask for it. You don\'t just look over his head. Bad idea, acraig. :(
-
Grono: how will you recognize your friends then? Even with more skins, it will be hard to tell by sight who is who.
You could tell of course \"Ok now, I know you\" and the name appears.
But this require a list of the people you know and I\'m sure you could know LOT of ppl.
Now imagine that for let\'s say 100000 players. It\'s lot of data to store and use. So in term of performance, it\'s quite hard to have this.
This has been discussed before. I\'m not sure if what I said is 100% sure, but it\'s at least one reason. ;)
-
I would know all my friends, \'cause all my friends would be wearing big flashy items, pointing fingers at others. :D
No really, I\'d know my friends, \'cause my friends would have set their characters to show their name to me, with the \"Will you allow this character to see your name in the future: Yes/No\" feature, which would be a good idea to implement as well as having secret names. :)
-
What would be good even, if a game dev could simply make an overhead screen shot of the map and post a high res image of it....that alone is all we want, then we can mod the map to include spawn points of crystals etc etc
-
it\'s only a small map, but there is one at http://www.theforsakenones.com
thanks to the people for making it, it is of some help ^^

I would disagree with this. For a couple of reasons:
1) Makes meeting people harder if everybody hides their name
2) Can make grouping harder. For example, if you see in your group window that \'Bob\' is low on health but you cannot find him to heal him because he has his name secret. Or you end up meleeing against the wrong guy because he has his name secret.
3) People can be generally annoying and you won\'t know who say in your petition to a GM.

All the shouting would be anonymous too, and thus resulting in:
Somebody shouts: Where are you?
Somebody shouts: I\'m right here
Somebody shouts: fighter looking for group!
Somebody shouts: Where is the shop?
Somebody shouts: Apples, get your fresh apples right here!
Somebody shouts: etc. etc. etc. etc.
etc. etc. etc.
get my point?? Now that would seriously suck...

Somebody Shouts: Oy, your a dickhead
Somebody Shouts: ok thats it, who said that!
Somebody Shouts: i did
Somebody Shouts: no it was me
Somebody Shouts: or it could have been me
Somebody Shouts: im going to kill you
Somebody Shouts: find me first moron
Oh how annoying

oh god ANOTHER map thread!!!
sorry, i usually don\'t piss about dup threads, but this time PLEASE search for the map threads ...these were done SO MANY times that my head hurts :(

The tell name thing is cool, maybe if u could get something that shows everyones name then it would be very useful for assasins/mysterious char. But, I want the game asap so if the tell name takes a lot of time to do then screw it, The maps I dont think they should have, takes the fun away from exploring the underground
