Dear mister or miss from the technical helpdesk.
I have a slight problem,
as a matter of fact even two, but only one has serious impact.
first thing first:
the major problem I have.
Tried to upload a character
it took some time
I was too impatient.
So I Reset my computer.
problem: when i try to connect, there is a message that I\'m allready logged on.
What to do what to do?
the minor inconvenience I\'m suffering:
when I start up in safe-mode, it goes rather slow
(I know, it is Safe-mode, and we have to blame it on the server)
but when I start up in open GL, i don\'t get any images.
Any hints?

The reason for this is because we use UDP as the network protocol. Unlike TCP which uses a socket for each connection UDP just has the one socket that the server is listening on. So we have no way of knowing if you client is still active. To work around this, the client sends a \'heart beat\' to the server to let him know that you are still alive. If the server does not hear a heart beat from you for a while it will remove your client.
So the basic answer to this is to wait a bit longer and give the server time to kill off your ghost and you can log in again.

Again this is not an issue with the network. This is an issue with the Crystal Space rendering engine. I don\'t have any info on what type of GFX card you are running to make a guess here.

The error-message given, mentions a period of 30 seconds. I\'m not that impatient, but even if I try to connect let\'s say one or two hours later, I still get the same response. Therefore I think that there might be something wrong.

I thought this might have been a general error.
But for both issues shall I use the designated communication-channels for further help.
