Title: Other free mmorpg's?
Post by: Bamm on October 13, 2003, 06:46:40 pm: Currently in planshift there isnt much to do, so in the meen time i guess ill go find another game to play.

Can you people name some games for me please?

P.S. what is \"the game that shall not be named?\" I hear people say that alot and why is the game called that?

One of the most complete MMORPG lists on the net currently is http://www.mpogd.com. You should check it out, it\'s where I found PS. ;)

I hope this is not inappropriate or anything. If it is, I apologize.

I have a MMORG project going that is in open alpha, much like Planeshift is. Anyone is free to come by and take a look. We could really use testers!

But I warn you, if you think PS is in Alpha, wait until you get a look at us :) We aren\'t nearly at the level of progress PS is. But we do have a server, and you can make an account and log in and chat with anyone else who is there and move around the landscape.

Our 3D engine is in its early stages. The landscape isn\'t yet textured and lighting is primitive. We have a single landblock you can walk around on. To be honest, we\'re pretty much a glorified chat room at the moment, heh.

Anyway, we can use more testers, to be sure! The site is http://www.rjcyberware.com and the game is \"Sovereignty\". You download a Laucher (only a couple of hundred K) which then downloads the client files (about 2 megs at the moment, I think). After the initial download, you will automatically download any updated files as they become available (no further web downloading should ever be required).

I\'d really appreciate anyone who wants to come by and find bugs for us.

Once I learn more about graphic arts (self learner here), I will be offering my services. If I ever talk my wife into a T1 line (closer than most think), I will set up a server or two and offer them too!

You wont ever see anything like player loyalty like THAT over at rooinsky-cape.

Post by: Kixie on October 26, 2003, 11:58:28 pm: lots of other free mmorpgs... none as good as planeshift (which is pre alpha...).... :P concerning r00nscape it was fun for a while but it gets old, plus im snotty and i have to have my 3d graphics, and finally lots of mean people on there and an abundance of scammers etc. Well I\'m not going to bash it, but ill lay out the facts... :)

If you\'re to lazy to check how much somethings worth, or get tin ore instead of iron ore, it\'s your own fault for not checking. And the new 3D graphics are coming for members Dec. 1 and a few weeks later for f2p. So, pretty soon, it won\'t be a game with sucky graphics. :)

Also as far as scamming goes 240 people and counting have been scammed by a virus that gets in their computer from a fake email that says its from the editors of R00nscape. Then it replaces thier r00nscape icon witha program that works like the website untill they get to their password thing and when u enter it to get in it sends ur passoword to the hacker. Thats the sneakiest thing i have heard of and you cant say it is that persons fault for getting scammed there... 8o

Then click a post that says new screenshots #3 (there are 2 other posts with screenys) just to tell you they are horrible graphics. Nothing that would come close to comparing with PS... :(

DO NOT play it if you are 12 or older...you will find it just plain dumb. But then again, it IS getting a huge upgrade in december as well that will give it about half the grafix of ps. dont worry, wont be half as good still, lol. :)
