Title: Laanx Holy thread
Post by: SkwirlDude on October 28, 2003, 01:16:59 am
This post is for all followers of Laanx, or persons curious about the worship of Laanx.

*Note *- this post will be put in to installments at different times, thus it will likely be spammed by the Cabal. The power of Laanx is mostly based around blessing, but can bring curses as well. I pray to Laanx that any persons posting malicious spam in this thread be Banned !

            The Holy Thread of Laanx
       Chapter One- pertaining to recruitment

Laanx is the all mighty goddess (of PlaneShift) and deserves your(character?s) worship! It is ordered that all who have seen the light should attempt to spread the truth to others! In doing so one should use the following formats.
1.   Mass Recruitment- Shout at the top of your lungs the message of the temple. It reaches many, but recruits few, it should mostly be used to open the populaces eyes to the truth.
2.  The Personal Mission- go up to individuals and continue in the following fashion-
A. Greet the person. Wait for response.
B.  Ask the person if they are in a guild. If no continue. If yes, ask which. If guild is good, invite to Saturday service.
C.   Ask the person if they would like to join a guild. If yes, explain the purpose of our guild, and continue. If no, say goodbye.
D.    Drag the person to Kixie so they can be recruited.

That is all that is needed now.

I\'ve met with these Laanxians before in-game, and I have to say, I\'m not impressed (No offense to Kixie!); even more so after reading this thread.  Your entire recruiting policy is based on spam?  That really puts you up there with the Cabal in terms of \"Jerkiness\" (although, now the hypocrytical Cabal has switched their position, they\'re \"Evil\" now.)  Although, your services interest me, what\'s that about?

Anyway, good luck Kixie and the rest of the Followers of Laanx!

P.S.: Where\'s the Followers of Talad? Or better yet, the Followers of Venge?

No the Laanxians are good people I can vouch for it. Though laanx sucks bigtime(along with Talad and Venge you say?). The only real gods are Cyric, Talos and Mystra and I am not sure I like them either.

ok it isnt spam, we are trying to help people!

As for evil dude, We are protected by the power of laanx (lack of PKing).

It\'s kinda OT, but why would anyone want to worship Laanx or Talad? From what I read, they\'re the most selfish and self-centered gods I know about! Their followers are only a tool for self-promotion and their endless quarrel.
Title:
Post by: Draklar on October 29, 2003, 03:08:32 pm
yah, Lynx here is right.
Tho i still worship Talad, he is that strong type of guy, good god for a pure warrior :)
Besides, he did a good job with everything after throwing Laanx down
also, he made a peace between enkidukais and ylians, so he ain\'t that bad :)

i think by spam, Grakrim meant shouting stuff about your guild in-game (mass recruitment). And yes, it is a spam.

Don\'t worry, i can still kill NPC priests and take the other ones to a pvp area...
...Or even provoque them until they accept a duel.
See ? They are plenty of ways to \"PK\"  8)

\"Doo da dee da doo...\"

oh, there\'s another thing for that, it is the /ignore spell ;)
Title:
Post by: Yann on November 02, 2003, 06:15:26 pm
But this spell doesn\'t do anything against someone who stands just in front of you on purpose, follows you or jumps everywhere during the \"Saturday service\".

Of course that is not very intelligent but it is possible...
Title:
Post by: Draklar on November 02, 2003, 06:20:16 pm
hmm... well... there\'s also that high level spell, /report, tho dunno if it should be used for that, might make some damage for the caster if used without good reason :D
Title:
Post by: elscouta on November 02, 2003, 06:24:33 pm
Yeh, hacking the client to stop the displaying of players in the /ignore list is the only solution in this case (what? that\'s not allowed :(). Oh wait, there is another solution: be more powerful than the guy that annoys you At least if it doesn\'t work, you can still accept the duel :D

Title: Chapter 2
Post by: SkwirlDude on November 08, 2003, 06:55:28 am
Chapter Two- pertaining to behavior
Laanx? will is all around us. It?s what causes us to take pity on a newbie who can?t find a way out of the dungeon. Most people are influence by it. It takes training to master what Laanx wants you to do. To begin with follow these guidelines.

-One should help Newbies. Do not mock them, for all has come from what they are.
-Be kind to all players. Remember, selfishness is the way to corruption.
-Use language appropriate to ones surroundings.
-Don?t slip into a mindset that thinks all that is around him surreal and fabricated, believing that there is actually a world outside of Ylyiakum.
-Remember that Technomancy is an abomination to Laanx.
-Do not deal with corrupt entities, for they will drag you in.
-Have respect for those wiser than you, but only have caution against the fool.

Wow, that sounds like the EXACT opposite as the Cabal! I laugh in your general direction!

you know whats realy funny? I have never read past the first line in a cabal post...
Title:
Post by: Savion on November 08, 2003, 04:07:51 pm
What a shame.... we have many wise words to spread.... and you even say to \"Respect the Wise\"
Title:
Post by: lynx_lupo on November 08, 2003, 04:12:59 pm
Maybe you have indeed, but you sure as heck don\'t spread them! :P
Title:
Post by: Savion on November 08, 2003, 04:34:41 pm
It is not recognized as wisdom yet. Only time will prove us right.
Title:
Post by: SkwirlDude on November 08, 2003, 07:32:09 pm
i believe that the fools were being refered to those also known as the corupted... and we all know who the corupted are...
Title:
Post by: Savion on November 08, 2003, 07:52:03 pm
The corrupted overtake the weak. They shall cower under our hand...

Hey, maybe I should be the guild priest or something... write the Code of the Cabal...
Title:
Post by: SkwirlDude on November 08, 2003, 07:54:51 pm
The weak become either the wise or the corupted, and the wise are better than the corupted.
Title:
Post by: Savion on November 08, 2003, 07:58:42 pm
The weak can become nothing but more weak. They have no hope of rising to power. The weak are meant to be control by the wise. Corruption is just another form of wisdom.
Title:
Post by: SkwirlDude on November 08, 2003, 08:02:29 pm
The Wise know the coruption. They know its power, and its weakness. Through this knowledge, Wise overcome the Corupt.
The Corupt seek to destroy the weak, for they know the weak will one day either opose them, or suceed them.
The corupt have individual power, the wise have power as one.

Anybody else ever notice how every time Savion tries to sound smart it doesn\'t work? :D
Title:
Post by: Savion on November 08, 2003, 08:04:46 pm
The weak and the wise have nothing in common. They are part of two different worlds. The Strong are meant to Rule the weak. The Cabal are strong and shall overpower the weak. Our infinite wisdom can, and will, be the hand that you will have no choice but to follow.
Title:
Post by: SkwirlDude on November 08, 2003, 08:09:35 pm
The corupted deny that they were once weak, for they are ashamed. The wise Embrace that fact, for they are humble.
Title:
Post by: Savion on November 08, 2003, 08:12:06 pm
The wise are born superior to the weak. There is no way to become wise from a weakened state. A grow to power is an illusion made by man. You are born powerful.
Title:
Post by: SkwirlDude on November 08, 2003, 08:16:37 pm
The corupted only seek to better themselves by stating absurdities, The Wise seek to be corected, as that is the process to becoming wise.
Title:
Post by: Savion on November 08, 2003, 08:18:00 pm
We state the truth. The \"wise\" are consantly striving to find the ways of the world while the real world passes them by. That form of wisdom does not seperate them much from the weak.
Title:
Post by: Draklar on November 08, 2003, 09:26:45 pm
To get corrupted you need to have weak mind.
If your will is strong, you won\'t get corrupted.
Geez... isn\'t that obvious?
Title:
Post by: SkwirlDude on November 08, 2003, 09:41:26 pm
The services will begin in about 20 minutes.
Title:
Post by: Savion on November 08, 2003, 09:53:03 pm
Corruption is power that the \"wise\" refuse to accept.
Title:
Post by: Yarulion on November 08, 2003, 10:04:01 pm
Not to pull a Seperot, but...

<.<

>.>

>.<

Corruption is power the wise don\'t accept.
So corruption, as not accepted by the wise, is not the same as wisdom.
But corruption was just another form of wisdom?
It\'s a contradiction flat out.
Title:
Post by: SkwirlDude on November 08, 2003, 10:32:51 pm
I thank all those who came to the service today
Title:
Post by: Savion on November 08, 2003, 10:45:04 pm
Let me explain if further. Wisdom has two sides = the corrupted and the \"wise\". You can choose which side you follow.
Title:
Post by: SkwirlDude on November 08, 2003, 10:45:51 pm
its kinda like the force, you know the dark-side and the light-side
Title:
Post by: Yarulion on November 08, 2003, 10:46:51 pm
Um... not really.

Wisdom is a foreign concept to the Cabal. Now sophistry?
Title:
Post by: Savion on November 08, 2003, 10:48:26 pm
Now that is foolish. You have BOTH sides telling you what wisdom is... and you still say no? It is coming from two people\'s mouths from two totally different aligned guilds.

What a fool
Title:
Post by: SkwirlDude on November 08, 2003, 10:54:46 pm
now, i was\'nt saying that the cabal members were actualy wise...
Title:
Post by: Savion on November 08, 2003, 10:55:57 pm
We are The Cabal. We take the taint of corruption and shape it to our will.
