Hey guys! This game looks very promising... I was looking through webpages and stumbled apon this one. This game reminds me a lot about EverQuest. Anyone know if the games fighting system and stuff is gonna be similar? Well, just wanted to check the forums out and stuff.. Cya in the game in late march/early april!

noone knows anything....
what we know is that the only fighting wil lbe in teh arena. if i fight outside that....well...lets jstu say its bad.
-
The significant difference between this and LevelQuest will probably be the fact that here you don\'t pay $10 a month to have powergamers annoy the shit out of you. Plus it won\'t inherantly suck.

Hi Weitang, welcome to the forum :D
I look forward to seeing you late March, but we\'ll have to wait a lot longer for any combat and an idea of the system used. This first demo will be a walk and talk.
-
I see... Well, the game looks great and I will be downloading the demo when it comes out to play! ^_^ My name will be Weitang and I do hope to chat with you in game too! Thanks for all the replies so quick! Gotta go!

i dont know if ever quest sucks, cuz i\'ve never played it, but im SURE that this game will SUCK if there is no pk unless the arena =/
-
yes there has to be pk. pkpkpkpkpk! :D
-
I don\'t care if we have PK or not, I never was any good at killing someone and seeing them lose their possessions anyway, I would usually end up just giving them back or healing my victim - pathetic eh? ;)
However, I do think for the sake of realism and because it can lead to interesting situations PK is needed, especially in a role-play context. Having PK as an option is surely a major reason for having guilds, people find safety and protection there, without PK, guilds become less necessary I think. Equally (and I\'m sure this has been mentioned many times), I don\'t think PS should be a totally lawless land, we should accept the consequences of our actions and be dealt with accordingly (if caught of course (http://members.aol.com/funonangelswings/wink.gif) ).
-
The octarchs wrath would be on those who PK! lol
The cities will be basicly no- pk, with the exeption of the arena of course.
Outside well...no one knows...

I\'m kinda drifting off the topic of the thread here, but....
I hope in a PK situation whatever we have in the way of skills, levels and stats are not visible to players. This gives high level players easy targets and attitude problems and bears no resemblance to anything resembling a real situation. Fear should spread through actions and reputation not because of a number above someones head.
Also I would be tempted to allow PKing in cities but really come down hard on those people - the temptation to attack people in town would be too much for some to resist. It would be nice to see them immediately jumped upon by an army of highly trained guards :)
-
Yup, once someone tries to PK the guards are upon him!
-
or her!
-
I think PKing should have effects on faction. If you have lets say.. 50 faction (using numerical to show greatness of it..) with guards.. and somone kills you that has less faction then you with the guards, then maybe the guards will help? Im not exactly for sure how this would work, but it sounds like a good idea to me. As for town pk, if you are in town I personally do not think that you should be allowed to attack other players. With the level issue and fear, there should be a command which hides your level/class/race. However, it would be tricky if you could con your targets :)

hiding your race would be next to impossible. keep in mind this game is a 3d world with a 3d perspective. chances are people will be able to look at a person and identify what race they belong to. but there could always be certain clothing like a cloak or a robe to help hide your identity if you want to...and there could also be an invisibility spell that would last a certain ammount of time depending on how good your magic skill is. while invisible you cannot be seen by any player. but at the same time if a player tried to walk through the spot you are standing in the player would not be able to pass through and would bump into you.
-
hello weitang :D
-
Actually, when I meant hide race, I meant hide it from /whois Or whatever the command may be! And hi Kiern :)
-
Hey princess... wouldn\'t that invis spell of yours be great for mugging people? How about a stealth tech?
It would be good to see if you can hire mercenaries (NPCs and real people) to protect yourself. Players who are bounty hunters would love this
-
If there was an invis spell, which there probibly will be, there will have to be a see invis :) Its not like people can go invis and nobody will ever be able to see them... And stealth would be a good idea, and if your skill is low then you should get detected easily and stuff.. Stealth could be like invis except for on classes that aren\'t big spell casters that are rogue/scout types ^_^

I think there should be player built towns where the govt of that particular town can change the laws of the town e.g. if alot of PKers gets into the govt. of that town. they can try to influence the others to change the laws (voting). Then if the town allows PK, pkers would frequent it while do-gooders would avoid it.
-
i\'ve said it once ill say it again........
VOTE MEKET FOR OCTAIRCH (sp)
il make sure that pk dont get \'voted into\' the laws...
and FREE BEER!!!!!......u must go to kada-els BBB to retrive your ale tho....whats tha tu say?.......dunno where it is??......ahh jsut click the sig....and drink up... :D
