Title: The man with ideas!

Check this regularly for ideas, i can come up with many!

Potions
Y not get a few empty bottles, find herbs that can make healing potions and mana potions. Maybe you can even find and mix rare herbs to make powerful potions like invisabilty!

Starting off
You could start off with nothing, you could go out into the wild, kill deer and foxes etc and get their skins and sell/eat the meat off them.
Also you could get items that could make a weapon
E.g Wood + Wood = Wooden Training sword
      Wood + Bone = Bone sword (more damage than a wooden sword)

Spells
You could get a spell, and lvl it up like the spell has seperate exp, once it has got 2 a certain lvl, then you can go back to town or whatever and get a new spell because you understood the old one and seeing that you could inprove it.
E.g Fire Shot 500 exp needed 2 lvl. (EXP from monster)
      When fireshot it lvl 3 (max lvl)
      new spell - fireball (example)

Town Cryer Quests
The game could have a town cryer who would shout out quests for newbs, high lvls and alike to go out and do a quest.

e.g High lvl quest - Go out and slay the leader of the bandits, found in the heart of the great forest. (example)

                        Etc

This is what the Herbalist, Alchemist, Weaponsmith etc jobs are for.

I like the idea about exp for spells, like in fx. Skies Of Arcadia. Then people are forced to use crappy spells, which kinda helps prevent powerplay, at least to delay it. There\'s no doubt that some spells will be favoured and used the most.

Who says you\'ll only be in need of herbs to make potions? Potions can be made of anything from crushed stone to ogre eyes and old worm skin... Gotta be more creative, you know. :)
