Title: Connection and Graphics
Post by: Kal Keraden on November 22, 2003, 12:52:13 am
I know PlaneShift is buggy and only in its Beta form. What I would like to know is why I can\'t connect, and when I do, I can\'t navigate because the scenery gliches up on me.

PlaneShift is in Alpha form, and no-one can help you if that\'s all the info you\'re going to give us.

Please stop being annoying on purpose.

Thats all I can give. The graphics card fails everytime I load the game.
And I\'m not annoying on purpose. That is just me. Maybe because I\'m Australian.

Get your parents to see what graphics card you have, the speed of your computer, and how much RAM you have then. Post the information here so I can help you.

Go to the Run dialog and write \"dxdiag\" (without the qoutes)  and press ok. Then press the \"Save All Information\" button and put it somewere. Attach it to your message and email it to thefixer1001@hotmail.com or someone else u wanna mail to... It contains your system specs, nothing personal

Kal, you don\'t seem to have much memory to run both Win2k and Planeshift. Sometimes, you may be able to run it but experience swapping (the game may easily use as much as 300MB of main memory, if your computer doesn\'t have as much, it will use the harddisk a lot), and sometimes it may just crash because your virtual memory is too small : 291 MB is not enough.

Try to increase your physical memory, DDR266 is not very expensive, though if you intend to upgrade soon it\'s probably not worth it. Also, find some space on your harddisk to increase your virtual memory as well. If you know how to do, I would even recommend setting a constant size for the virtual memory (same value for initial and maximum size parameters), to avoid disk fragmentation.
