Cabal and Spamming - What do I think?
I have finally descended to the level of the people on these boards, and I\'ve posted my very own Cabal thread (hey, start your own collection before they get untrendy again). :)
Anyways, in this post you can read what I think about:

How do I start a thread about the most disliked topic in the forum, yet still the most discussed topic in the entire community?
The first three words that came to my mind, when asking myself that question: \"I don\'t know.\" And why should I? People hate them, but they can\'t leave them alone. It\'s Cabal this, Cabal that. Cabal suxx0rs, Cabal be ban. Cabal whine, Cabal stupid. Cabal evil, Cabal jerks... Cabal, Cabal and Cabal. And to tell you all the truth, I don\'t blame them for pissing you off really bad. When people whine about me, the best thing I know is to just keep bugging them until I get booted myself. It\'s fun. :D
Now, I don\'t regularly visit the Guild Forum, where all the action seems to take place, yet I\'ve seen posts here and there by Auranny and few others, and I don\'t really see anything wrong with what they write. Yes, they can critizise people from time to time, but so what? Why start spamming utterly useless posts about some bum who, in your head, appears to be a 00b3r d00d n00b flamer, instead of just ignoring him and move along? I remember only once telling Auranny he was a prick, but of no use. The whole thread was deleted later the same day. Maybe that\'s also why \"The Evul Cabali PeopleZz\" keep out of my posts. Again, I don\'t know, and I don\'t care.
Something I\'ve heard a lot of talk about these later days is this: \"We must now get Cabal banned for spamming Cabal-spam. We can\'t have them spamming no more, because they\'re spamming our already full-of-spam spam-forums.\" ... Suggesting this is U-s-e-l-e-s-s! Stop wasting your time, when you\'re making it sound like you love it so much! The people who actually are spamming, are the people who have comments for everything. In this example, I\'ll use Seperotty because I know he can understand that I just use him for fun: Auranny says: \"Cabali Post nr. 19 - We have X new members yaddaih yaddaoh, and etc. etc.\" Now, this isn\'t spam. He\'s using the guild forums to announce guild informations - I repeat - NOT SPAM.
Please understand.
Then our doggy-friend Seperotty thinks it\'s spam, because he just saw a previous Cabal thread in the top of the forum (that was pumped full of useless spam about the pre-previous threads, and which was therefor bumped up to the top) and he says: \"Why u not post spam in other spam thread n00b Cabal!\"... Wrong. First of all, making a new thread to put some new content in it, isn\'t wrong (and he probably does it because the other ones - as Seperotty said - were full of spam). Imagine someone sending a letter to a magazine saying something like: \"Stop releasing any more magazine n00bs! Go spam in the magazines you\'ve already made!\" - That would be wrong as well.
Well then, how do we solve this whole thing? We have several solutions. 1) Ban everyone posting anything that contains the word Cabal in it - No matter if you\'re Member of the guild, or Non-Member. Or 2) Everyone that\'s Non-Member of The Cabal leave the people who are Members of The Cabal alone, and vise versa, unless it\'s a creative and positive comment you\'re posting. Having a post that\'s like: \"Hi I\'m new I live just around the corner.\" - \"Hey ho, you\'re noob so I\'ll kill you [Insert Cabal Signature Here]\" - \"OMG U SOXX0RZ CABAL N00B [Insert Oldbie Signature Here]\" - Delete - Delete - \"Welcome to PlaneShift :)\" .. is wrong. The comments aren\'t nice, they\'re not on topic, and Mogurry has to waste her time deleting two useless posts.

Exclusive - My guide on ignoring Cabal!
I stated in the previous section that I don\'t know much about The Cabal, because I\'ve chosen to simply ignore that they exist. I\'m doing fine, and they seem to be doing fine as well. None of use really need eachothers attention, as it would be useless for Cabali members to tell me I suxx0rs because I simply ignore it. How? Read on!
How to ignore The Cabal - Step 1:
Whenever you see the world \"Cabal\", whether it is on a picture, on these forums or when you\'re chatting on MSN/AIM etc. ignore it. Simply force your mind into pretending that you never recieved that bit of information, and quickly switch over to something else, like a popup, etc. *Note: Flashing popups are really nice, as they\'re very annoying and you easily forget things when you\'re annoyed.
Please master this step fully, before reading Step 2.
How to ignore The Cabal - Step 2:
Listen to Mogurry, and do what she says!

Short Summary of the post itself:
I would like to state that I\'m getting sick of any Cabal discussion so give it up people, and that\'s an order! Leave them alone, and they\'ll leave you alone, and for gods sake, stop replying if you think they\'re spamming! And please note that I have nothing against The Cabal in any way, as long as they don\'t attract unwanted attention against me in person, or any of my posts (which they haven\'t yet, so keep up the good work). Thank you, and have a nice day. Blame Venge.
All names ( except \"The Cabal\" and \"Cabali\" ) used in this post have been changed so they hopefully will not hurt the people owning them. If they do, send me a msg and I\'ll change them. :)

According to Auran, we won\'t need to worry too much about this anymore. He\'s calling for his members to refrain from posting anything untill the end of the week, and then only posting when necessary after that. The guild will, apparently, still be active in other areas.
Still, nice post Grono. :) You sure know how to drive the message home. I hope people take notice.

Hey, you\'ve all said that Cabal = Evil jerky stuff, so we can\'t just penalize only some people for using an Evil jerky word. We must all feel the pain (that\'s the same with Runesscape - Just a bit less devastating) :)

Let\'s say there\'s some evil group that has great corrupting powers and makes everyone around act almost as bad as they. And let\'s say there is all-powerful being that could stop it.
to stop it:
your points:
1) cast an armageddon ;)
2) ehh... leave everyone with message \"just ignore them\" ;)
my point:
- destroy group that corrupts everyone so everything will go back to normal.
that was just example ;)
oh, and 2) wouldn\'t work for some newbies
unless you make this thread sticky or something, but.... that would be advertising Cabal ;)
but if they really gonna keep this spam down, then they\'re ok with me.

Nice try, Grono. Heh, but you can\'t format a corrupted mind. As long as Cabal(and CN?) exists, there will be their spam here. And when they die off, another one will take their place.
As long as there\'s a forum, so long it will be spammed. The mods are doing a fine job and I don\'t believe there\'s much more we can do, but ignore it all.

The Circle of Legends have been taking this route for some time now. I know, I could have been more ignorative (I don\'t even think that is a word...) and I made a mistake not doing so. I have pretty much given up this useless fight.
By the way, did anyone notice what Devoted did a while ago to solve the problem? He asked them nicely to stop cluttering his thread... and they did. Why couldn\'t the rest of the guilds do the same? If you are always yelling at them to shut up or to go away, of course they are going to stay and bug you.
But anyway, I am glad that Auran came to his senses and I hope that the PS community will take the action that Grono and COL have.

Actually it\'s not really the Cabal get pissed at. It\'s just coincidence (Maybe...?) that the Cabal houses all the spammers, like Savion.

I don\'t thinks so. I think spammers and people who want to play an evil character are drawn to the Cabal because of their presence. I\'m sure there have been other non-Cabal spammers, and a few Cabal that don\'t spam.

The problem isn\'t the people. It\'s the subject. Whenever somebody talks about the Cabal, everything screws up. Cabal members aren\'t doing the spamming. It\'s the people that talk about them.
EDIT: Sep is a pseudospammer, not a complete spammer.

to be honast cabal arent that bad they bring a different tone to PS on a whole just because you dont see past the spamming to there devius ploting mind dont mean that thats all there good for. but then i doubt you\'ll listen anyway >.>

There is a topic about what is spam and what is not on the general discussion board.
Everyone has the right to talk but must respect the others.
Flooding the board is not respecting, insulting somone is not respecting and posting in the wrong place is not respecting.
Please follow the decision of Mogura.

The cabal to me doesnt seem to be the ones spamming or causing all of these \'flame wars\'.
To be able to be talked about on all forums and to be well known(even if hated) seems to me to put them as one of the most successful guilds on here(apart from the mercenarys of cource :P )...ive been here for a month and i know more about the cabal just buy reading random posts than any other guild(except the mercenaries).
Most peopel seem to be using The Cabal as an excuse to flame,just because they dont seem to be liked(which seems to be the whole idear of The Cabal) doesnt mean that you can use their threads as an easy way to post crap an get away with it.
Every world has to have a guild that\'s aim is to dominate the world...just think how boring PS would be without one...The Cabal makes PS what it is...along with every other player and guild, a guild can have whatever aims or alighment they want...The cabal chose theirs and they shudnt be constantly flamed for it.
IMO The Cabal seems to be extremly well planned(just my opinion and im not evily alighned or w/e its called...Im am a neural player)
Anyways...i have a habbit of rambling on about crap...back to the point...STOP the useless SPAM already...your just making the cabal more popular with posts flaming them.

ive read alot of them but all that flaming confuses me :(
what the Cabal does is up to them in their own guild and how they treat other people is up to those too,and so far i havnt seen any flaming or spamming by the cabal that is any worse than anyone else on these forums.

Actually they were spamming other guilds\' threads so badly that Half-Pint made Cabal War thread to stop them from doing that. :/

All archvillians have to have a weakness. Whats the fun in being invulnerable ;):P. Also if my weakness serves to keep me nose deep in women I don\'t see a problem with losing because of it :D

And I like Rakera hating me. Unnecessary hostility is a excellent thing for evil to establish a foothold. You will prove useful Rakera though I am sure you fail to see how. Don\'t worry about it. Few ever realise when the corruption uses them for its own purposes. I havent lead guilds in realms far and wide for nothing. When you are in the fray you have no option but to learn and so I learned. You will learn too but it will take longer than usual I can see.

yea you forget the domination prosses you are the arch villan. but in time someone with no weaknesses will take over useing what you have done as a foot hold in his own power schem. Dammit i gave away my plans again. well back to the drawing board....... :D

flaws or fakeouts to make people think someone is easyer to defeat then thought? but in any case there are no oppertunitiys for that type of move....

Garrrrr! I used to think normal arms were the best availible. Then when he couldn\'t convince me, he cut meh arrrm off.
