Title: Cannot login

Hi.

I just downloaded the game, installed it, made me a character and tried to log in.

It wo?nt let me in and I?m not sure why... :(

Hi Orchfader, and welcome !

Could you give us the specs of your system ? And maybe try to describe what happens, we can\'t help you from what you posted.

The first time you log, the world takes ages to initialise, so be patient. It can take several hours in some extreme cases, but usually it lasts under one hour.

Windows XP.
AMD Athlon XP 1800.
1.53 GHz
128 MB of RAM.

I do not know much more than this, I mainly use the comp to play, not to try and figure out what makes it run...

Well, I get to \"Initialising World\" and there it simply stands still.

I know that the comp continues working on logging me in, but in like 10-12 minutes the game window shuts itself off with no report saying why it does so...

I even turned off my firewall. :p

Hope this clears things out.

The problem is probably your physical memory. Windows XP takes a lot of it, and you only have 128 MB, which is not enough by today\'s standards. Try to get at least 384, or even 512 MB.

You could try to increase your virtual memory instead :

(My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced tab -> Performance Settings -> Advanced tab -> Virtual Memory)

and set the same value for Initial size and Maximum size. Something like 768 MB should be enough. But anyway, your harddisk will be accessed all the time, and the performance of the game will drop dramatically because of this.

Why is there no information about minimum or required system at the Planeshift homepage?

Well, I got online today...

But I guess I?ll be back after X-mas, hoping that Santa comes along with a load of RAM. ;)

The website, as the game, is under construction, that\'s why you haven\'t seen the specs requirements.

One thing I\'ve been wondering about : what is the translation of your sig text ?
