Title: if ps is in deep need of cash you guys could advertise ???

like most games and websites that go ask for donations and charge ppl to use or access the system why not let companys like ( coke,pentium,ect ect ) on the billboards or ally walls or posters like the wanted pics (however if this must happen always rember that you do not need to
hears ANGRY BOOing from the other gamers

yes yes i hear you guys but do u want to keep plane shift free

yes and i noe that the sponsers will try to FORCE plane shift in to a marketing machine
but you guys (programers) have to only sell advertsing space not sell them the game !!!

the next version will probably have a small ad from Fragnetics in the loading screen, it would be funny to see coca-cola(or whatever) posters ingame though :P

The only thing they need are servers that host the game, and for the moment they have Fragnetics and doesn\'t need more

So far we are fortunate not to need cash money since servers and bandwidth are donated to us directly.  I hope that continues indefinitely.

Advertising costs money, and as Planeshift doesn\'t make a profit, won\'t bring a profit in for the game.

This was done a while back.. and the PS community has grown since then... so I don\'t think we will have a problem with lack of severs for a while.

If I were ever to see a poster or ad for a present day product inside the game, I\'d leave.  This is a roleplying game and there is no need to have those products advertised anywhere inside the game.  If they do need to advertise then simple banners on their website or advertisements in the loading screen and such should be used.  But not inside the game.

but think of it we can have the companys avdertsing make the ads look authentic..... you noe  ( no words to describ this )

but you noe what i mean it besides we get to have posters of up commng movies and stuff ...

Yeah, how bad can it be... you\'re walking down a cobbled street, heading for Kada\'s tavern to tell your friends all about your latest orc-slaying adventure...

Then you see a poster advertising Terminator 4.

After all, in medieval times, such things were totally normal.

yeah !!! they had beer than didnt they ???

beer was invented by monks thats gotta mean something now doesnt it ???

any way i guess your right

ads are a last ditch effort to keep plane shift free for every 1 eals
(in the event that plane shift does not have any company to provide servers)

let me give you a hint: devs want it to be highly roleplaying so they won\'t add something that\'ll ruin it.

and this idea is as bad as the newspaper one :P
