I\'d like to announce that the great gods have entered the realm of planeshift.
Details can be found at The Great Gods (http://www.dorbian.nl/tgg).

This is also not a guild but a group of people sort like mercaneries but you can hire us for everything not only battle related.
Joining is only possible if we contact you, so if you contact us it will be a no and you will drop in points.
Though the site is under heavy construction don\'t hessitate to look.

It does seem you guys are similar to the BISM (Or maybe a cross between the BISM and the Superfriends...), I think. I don\'t know why anyone would want to hire you guys as opposed to the already well established mercenery organization (unless of course you provide a 100% friend\'s discount ;) )

Ah come on now, admit it; that\'s the primary section, and what most people think about when they think \"BISM\" (unless they confuse you with \"BASF\", as I have in the past). The other sections are just fluff, or other types of mercenaries.

Damn, I just lost my post explaining!
To shorten what I was going to say:
Yeah, we could all be called mercenaries, but their split into certain specializations of mercenaries and that faction mercenaries just best describes what they are used for, the other factions are not really fluff, some are more useful then others, but they are all definately going to be used
The descriptions also needs to be updated, which I will do later this month along with my announcements (maybe sooner). The ones you see now were kept as general as possible, since when they were made (around may 2002 probably) I knew very, very little about PS (and still, it has to be kept pretty basic until Planeshift is further along, but we have plenty ideas on how to make each faction work)
I may edit this later to make it more clear, but now I\'m mad I lost my post! :P

hmmm i think your all cool and stuff but naming yourselves gods is a little cocky especially when your as strong as the other +10,000 players in the game... just my opinion, but hey why even mention its my oppinion when 3000 people will still yell at me... ;(

second, the group is mainly used for extortion and creating a profile about someone, when he does something against the rules he will be blackmailed by our beloved friend seperot.
if you need info about someone and his history as far as we know it you can buy it from us.

By what I gather from the previous posts, the purpose of this shadowy not-just-mercenary non-guild organization is to maintain an extensive record of the actions of other characters (in-game only? or in the forum? or maybe in *REAL* life 8o )
How they get this information in the first place is apparently a secret too terrible for my mind to comprehend (since the only things I could think of were a) forum archives b) buying information from fallible informants c) running around the world of Planeshift *really fast* in order to watch everyone) But perhaps all they need is a little bit of information at the right time, and they would be useful. Kinda like a warped version of the Baker Street Irregulars.
This information would then be available for purchase, or would be used by said organization as \"leverage\" against people in order to ... er.. finance the operations of the group.

ok no we don\'t have different faction\'s, not like there are people especially for a faction, we all have the same rank in the group.
and for BISM well since i have been on the forums i haven\'t heard anything from the BISM anymore, and since it isn\'t all like the BISM i didn\'t consider it.
and the don\'t respond was more whenever someone tell\'s something useless like not for the game you have the habbit to kick the person into the ground and i wanted to be ahead of you this time :P

atm there is no information, and when we have you can always send a pm to me or any of the other members if we have it and the price ( the price will be according to the info inside the document )

I\'m still waiting for an answer, how is this not like The BISM? All you have done so far is say it isn\'t, but from what I\'ve seen it is exactly like it except less organized and very basic.

as far as my knowledge about the BISM goes, ( which probably isn\'t that far ) you don\'t keep a profile on every person in the game( or atleast a big group ).
if you do, then i will drop the subject and ask for this thread to be deleted, because then i did some of the research wrong and i didn\'t figure out a new part to the game.

Apparently, the Great Gods are an intelligence-for-hire group that also dabbles in mercenary work. I think they\'re trying to make some sort of massive information database for use in blackmail, background checks, and the like.
Or at least that\'s how it looks to me...

Just for clarification, The BISM will be able to (not will) do anything since the way it is set up allows us to concentrate on many areas at once, but blackmailing I highly doubt we will do since it is unrespectful (meaning others would look down on us, not sure if that\'s the right word ;) )...and I wouldn\'t like to do it anyways.

hehe yah i think that guilds like that should be a little more open to people right now. thats mainly how guilds get strong. guilds arent strong because they only let 4 people in at a time. plus you cant really discriminate either because untill about 3 weeks after crystal blue is released everyone will be able to beat everyone else into the ground. no one will be substantually stronger than any other person. :O

A) Um, are you talking about BISM? If so, we\'re not a guild.
B) I\'m planning to be much stronger than everyone else very quickly. I have to much free time.
(Like 8 hours a day free time :P )

1st of all im guild really was a wrong word because i meant as any group within the planeshift world
2nd of all even though i have around 8 hours plus 13 hour weekend days/ holidays no one with that kind of time could humanly possibly make a super character in 3 weeks. it just doesnt happen. And if it can happen in planeshift CB than the devs need to seriously think about thier leveling rules because they are a tad bit too easy. :(

In 168 hours of power leveling I think that a character can become amazingly strong compared to everyone else.

as far as i know there won\'t be any levels, making everybody the same strenght, but none of use ( except for the devs ) know that 4 sure.
and even if you are stronger then the others there isn\'t PvP yet so why would you bother making yourself that strong so fast, maybe your char will be delete after the next big update.

Um, yes there will be lvls. Someone at lvl 20 in the crystal way should be stronger then someone at lvl 1 in the crystal way...... 8)

this brings up a good point. people are running around saying \"you cant kill with a level 40 magician cus there are no levels!\" bulls***! there are levels! there may be no little number next to your name but trust me there are levels! I may have level 20 in my sword, and he WILL kill you, there fore he has a level. retards... :P

If you can\'t kill the mage, it means he\'s stronger than you, not that he has higher level. You don\'t advance from level to level, but become more skillful.
It is same as saying you have levels in real life...

Levels are levels, it doesn\'t matter how many different skills you have. For example; multiclassing in NWN; You can be a lvl 10 wizard, lvl 10 monk, lvl 20 Pale master in one character. They still lvls. :D

sorry, but I fail to notice what does it have to do with skills :/
like in Warhammer: Fantasy Roleplay: you can incrase skills, but you aren\'t leveling (mages are another story ;)) :P
