Im running Planeshift on Gentoo Linux but i cant see any text after starting the game, only a red and a yellow gem-button. I searched the forums but cant find a solution, anyone got an idea whats going wrong? I dont know if the arial.ttf problem is involved, arial is installed on my system but I dont know where planeshift searches for it. Im running it on a Athlon 2400+, 512 DDR, Geforce 4 (Latest Nvidia Driver).
Heres the output of planeshift, in my opinion everythings looking fine:

I have the same promblem when I try to start Planeshift under Slackware 9.1. I Can\'t see the fonts, so I can\'t even login *sigh*
But I was smart enough to find out that the fonts shipped with PS aren\'t working. I tried to install them in KDE but they arent visible there either. Font preview in Konqueror shows nothing too. So any ideas how to deal with it, do I have to install another Font server?
Thats the only Idea I have atm... since I cant see other TTF fonts in X11 too... I\'ll try it with XFSTT... perhaps I can solve this riddle... we\'ll see...
BTW: My specs are:

Athlon XP 2800+
2x512MB DDR
GeForce FX5200 128MB DDR
SB Audigy Player
Slackware 9.1 (using kernel 2.6.0-test11)

MortalSaviour I had the same problem, solution is simple, rename the folder with fonts to whatever You like or delet it. It shall work now ;-).
