I would guess someone else has thought of these already, but just to make sure...
programmable hotkeys: anything that you can type as a command you can program into these buttons. When you click on them they send those commands as if you typed them. So you could program buttons that you can click that will automatically:
\"/spawn\"
or
\"/shout You can\'t [crouch/open doors/have asked a more moronic question].\"
without you having to type the whole thing each time you need to (though I\'m sure neither of those examples will be needed in the next version... maybe you can do this already with the editable gui?)
motds: Messages of the days, unique for both for servers and for guilds, that are sent to the player when ever they log onto the game or the message is changed.
keyboard layout: having the ability to switch which keys do what, like being able to make \'r\' turn on autorun, or make \'q\' change view.
maybe I\'m just tired.. hope that was in some way productive. I know most of those things would be coming last, well after the major things the devs are working on now. Keep up the good work btw!
