Title: Am I allowed to alter the contents of Planeshift?

I just changed the key layout for the game. I also want to change smaller things like texture quality. Would I be violating the GNU if I did this for my personal use?

You can change anything you want for personal use, you can even change stuff and put it on the internet if you made it all yourself.
