Check out the landscape possible with the new CrystalSpace landscape engine that works with the new rendering engine. I wonder if this will be in CB.

neat but what i really want to see is the Trees and grass
-
wow looks great, but as snow_RAveN says, we\'d like to see trees, and grass
-
Those fluffy moutains with silly little paths are nice but im still a fan of huge dark mountains and depressing landscapes like in dark and light...
-
you mean something more like this (http://crystal.sourceforge.net/tikiwiki/tiki-browse_image.php?imageId=71), this (http://www.tosos.com/twilight.png) or this (http://www.tosos.com/chunk_fog.png) (for the first picture, the background seems to be a picture). Those are all pictures from CS terrain engine for the new renderer.

no way zinder those renders are horrible. they are so grainy and horrible. I hope the landscape gets upgraded soon because those are simply horrendus examples of landscaping

Let\'s forget about the kids comments...
This new renderer seems really promising, looks like a real evolution compared to the one used in MB, let\'s hope it will be ready soon enough so devs can use it in CB.

looks like starsiege tribes terrain...

This is rather old news, and was brought up months ago I think... but anyway.
If it\'s as easy to work with as that, they could make some damn good stuff with it. That\'s (the Tribes engine) actually what the Torque Engine is which they sell at Garage Games (http://www.garagegames.com). However you can do quite a lot with their test build of Realm Wars, the built-in mission editor (which lets you do the terrain stuff), and the scripting language, which all costs nothing. I\'ve finally gotten around to working on a map, I got this waterfall (http://www.geocities.com/cmndr_antilles/waterfallparticles.txt) for the most part done at 4 this morning. And there\'s a shot of terrain (http://www.geocities.com/cmndr_antilles/maptest.txt), with some trees even, for all you complainers. Of course there is some much better work, but that\'s just what a hack like me can do with it.
None of that is Crystal Space, but I imagine it can do something like that. The test shots don\'t look any good because they are just test shots to show a feature, they don\'t actually have any design put into them.
