Yeah.. Here\'s a longsword I modelled just now...
http://www24.brinkster.com/itsallcrap/longsword.jpg
It\'s my first and hopefully not last sword.
So... Any comments?

very nice from what i see. just a bit of texture and you got a killa sword dood.
-
Well yeah I didn\'t work on the textures at all (just plain colors there), so I guess it\'ll look better with some detail and perhaps some scribbling on it.
-
put some cool designs that are like etched into the blade, like the ones in kilogrin (its in abemores siggy)
-
taper the blade more starting at the base. The handle looks great, but the blade looks too big for it.
Then add some awesome texture.

nah nah i like it taht way. gives it a very broad sword feel to it. also i think the crease in the middle of the blade (the word escapes me) should be very deep. gives it an even more broad sword look and feel.
-
fine leave it broad, just thin the contour a bit to make it look a little flatter, and easier to swing.
-
I tried how it would look with tapered blade and now I\'m not sure do I want to keep it thin or to make a bigger handle for I don\'t like the handle the way it is now by myself... I\'ll try it out with a bigger handle and then I\'ll see how I\'m going to continue with the sword.
-
aw i thought it was perfect...
-
Here\'s how they look now as I made two versions of it so everyone is happy ;)

WoW, the second pic is kick-ass, what did you use to make the sword and where can i get it?
-
I used Milkshape 3D which is mostly used for modelling Half-life models but I like to use it cos its easy to use and free.
You should find it by just searching for Milkshape 3D but you\'ll probably be able to download it from here: http://files.seriouszone.com/download.php?fileid=477
MilkShape 3D is a low-polygon modeler, with all the basic operations of a modeling program plus support for low-level editing, primitives, and skeletal animation capabilities.
Have fun :)

not to bad.. good design.

But this is a pic of a Long Sword(hence the name of the title.) ;)
-
broad swords are considered a category of long swords. Plus even if it wasnt it could be rethought and he might decide to make a broadsword instead. but as i said broadsword is a category of longsword.
-
awsome, especialy for the first sword :)
-
Well, yea in a way. He doesn\'t have to make it a Broadsword though. Personally, I don\'t like the way Broadsowrds look. But, like I said; its his picture. And Broadswords and Longswords: well, they are alike, but to some ppl they are way different.
-
When I started making it I wasn\'t sure what I wanted of it so it came out a little inconsistent for the handle was too small for the blade or the blade was too big for the handle... But I think it was supposed to be a broadsword. (not so familiar with the names of the swords  )
Anyways, thanks for the praise and criticism!
-
For first sword. Good job! What program did you use to model it?
-
Thanks for the . Milkshape 3D is what I use and I know it isn\'t the best suitable program but what the heck, I like it. (As stated above)
