I was just wondering, what do the people who play MMORPGs (that\'s you) think are good or bad about them?
-
Bad: How repetitive they are.
-
Indeed some MMORPGs tend to get repetitive after a while...but what I like(d) about them was the social part of it...Some games had a really big social part to it, and hunting in group is always more fun than hunting alone. And when there are good quests you can do those...but poorly enough quests mostly are like this: \"kill #blablabla in ?map\" . Shoot the bastards who invented that.
:D
I didn\'t say peanuts!! It automatically putted peanuts in there!!! The THING put it there, the THING!!!
*grin*:D

well i love RPGs and when an RPG is MMO it gets a whole lot better unless everyone\'s an A-hole
-
Things I enjoy in MMORPGs:
Social aspects (hunting in parties, guilds, etc.)
Character customisation
Visuals
Events and quests (if they\'re interesting and rewarding)
Things I don\'t enjoy:
Pkers
Killstealers/Looters
Lag
Linear gameplay (Kill monsters, level up. Kill monsters, level up. etc.)

mmorpg\'s are ment to be social, so what I dislike about them is when people turn asocial... gankers, ks\'ers and the like.. they should be shot :P

indeed we should start a petition for open hunting of those people

Easy way around that. Items automaticaaly go to your inventory and only allow XP sharing when partied.
Good:
Realism.
Social.
Being able to actually have an effect on the game is always a plus. Not just being another nameless player.
Bad:
PKers and all manner of other jerks.
Bland storylines.
Repetitive themes.
And I especially hate RL getting into my MMORPGs. You know...OOC talk....names like CoolDude...and weiner.
So I have yet to find an MMORPG that lives up to the perfect game. Except PS...but I don\'t play it much...cause my character offended the gods and as punishment they turned me into a wall...

Roflmao :D I thought there was a way to get out of the wall but I forgot it for the moment...
Me too hates RL getting in to MMORPG, you know the RP stands for RolePlay and well...if you want to talk RL, do that private or guild chat huh? Or in special areas ofcourse :D
[EDIT] After almost 2 full years on this forum, I finally lost my yellow stars and got my first red one!! Caviar and champagne for everyone!![/EDIT]

There\'s still the problem of another party OD\'ing yours.. and there could be loot stealers in your party too who just dissapear when they get an item not ment for them.. Nodrop items, if they are implemented, would also cause a problem if loot is just put in a players inventory..
-
Well if you party with someone who isn\'t trustworthy then you run the risk of having loot stolen. Just make sure you party with people you can trust. It\'s easy to do really, whoever causes the most damage gets the best items and most XP.
As for as KS\'ers: Whoever initiates the fight gets the XP. If you attack a mob after someone else then you get nothing. I think that\'s fair.
-
Yeah, those damn idiots, all them KS\'ers and PK\'ers...I remember the days in Myth of Soma, Lineage and Helbreath, it was full of them. Maybe there should be a guild later in planeshift that has only one purpose: hunting bad guys. This will only have one negative aspect: When you have a badguyhunting guild, you\'ll automatically have a badguyguild.
Maybe this aint exactly that bad cuz in this way there will be guild wars and stuff.
As long as everything goes honest, everything is fine by me :D And if I meet a PK\'er or a thief he will regret being born in the first place. I\'m serious.
:D Yeh yeh :D
-
aw ya PK hunters that\'s quite a good idea
though PKing in designated areas may be good like if there wuz an arena for that...is that planned? those are fun
-
yeh arenas are not a bad idea....*cough* wish list forum *cough*
(is it already there :P?)

I like the KS solve idea, but I strongly disagree with the idea of the one dealing the most damage gets the best parts... imagine having a healer in your party and a knight.. the knight will always win, and thus always get the best items.. that would suck.. and you can\'t really trust anyone you don\'t know irl, unless you\'ve played with them for a while and know they wont do such a thing..

That is a good point. although they could change it for different classes. Melee fighters and Magic Casters are awarded by how much damage they do and Healers are awarded based on how much health they restore and how many times they resurrect a party member during the fight. Something along those lines.[/COLOR]
