heh, thanks tangerine, I always had to do it the same way as Keldorn, this is a bit more easy :)

Anyways, this is about all the news you can get, it doesn\'t include any art though, and 70% of the commitments are bug fixes/code cleanups, but it\'s something :P

These links should be placed in a thread and stickied.

What do you think, Moogie?

I think that the devs don\'t want to spread too much information about stuff in development. It steals part of the surprise when it finally comes out. All art is top secret. Even screenshots with dummy art are not welcomed (and were removed by Moog). I am not sure about the history.txt. I wouldn\'t have posted it if it hadn\'t been done already.

The history is public knowledge anyways and is only really describes the function of the game and not any of the real content ( which is database driven ).

This is misleading as well since it only shows the work of a few people.  There are many more artists/musicans/writers that are doing excellent work as well.

The level of functionality is what most people would be interested in anyway... at least I would.

- Added command on client /spelleffect .  Usefully for testing the
effect in game without having to cast the spell.

I hope they forget to take this out in the release, please?  :D

Well, it is client side command so it would not have any affect on anybody else\'s client.  Plus this way people can edit the spell_effect.xml file and try to create their own effects.  If they are any good they can be packaged with an update.

The problem I\'m seeing is, from the outside, the project hardly seems alive.  I would love to see a more constant type of news.  And that\'s just what http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/planeshift/planeshift/docs/history.txt?view=auto is.  However, as you mentioned, acraig, the work of the artists/musicians/writers should be acknowledged as well, so we should also have page with their accomplishments appearing as they happen.  It\'s not important that most of it would have no meaning to the majority of the community.  What\'s important is that we have a constant flow of news that could potentially spark discussions and keep us alive.

I realize this is not a priority of the dev team, but the community would love it.
