The Calen Vakhar, formerly the Elven Order, has opened it\'s doors once more. I have resigned my position as Archmage of the Dark Empire so I am now able to resume my position as Cora of the Calen Vakhar.
Mission: The Calen Vakhar is dedicated to self preservation. Our main goal is to succeed in all areas, whether that be militarily or monetarily. We are currently only accepting members from the Elven Races.
Allignment: We have no specific allignment. Our actions are based primarily on whatever will benefit our goals. Whether those actions are considered neutral, evil, or even good.
Positions Available: All of these positions, excluding the Cora, are available for new members:
Kano (Commander)
Yeste\'Ohtar (First Knight)
Nikerym (Captain)
Belegkhila (Infantry)
Dinafea (Rogue/Thief)
Cuar (Archer)
Val\'istar (Archmage)
Akh\'faern (Mage)
Fallaner (Healer)
Seere Yaa (Ambassador)
Khila (New Recruit)
The title goes before the person\'s name. For example my full title would be Cora Aendar Callenlasse. The chain comand is very basic. The Kano and Val\'istar hold equal power under the Cora. The Kano is in charge of the Yeste\'Ohtar who is followed by the Nikeryms. The Nikeryms are alloted groups of soldiers(Belegkhila, Dinafea, and Cuar). The Val\'istar commands the Akh\'faern and Fallaner. The Khila are the introductory positions for newcomers.
Recruitment: Most of you know me so you know that I will not be allowing everybody into this guild. Everyone, however, is welcome to apply. For the time being just send me a PM with your forum name, in-game name, and race. I will make the selections and inform you whether or not you are accepted.
Finally I would like to announce that an alliance has been made between the Calen Vakhar and the Dark Empire. I have not abandoned the Dark Empire and our guilds will remain very close. And just a note to all Cabali, just because I am not a part of the Dark Empire that doesn\'t mean that my view of you has changed.

Well as I said, the guild isn\'t sticking to any specific allignment. Blood may be spilled in order to get ahead. We may need to help the poor. It depends on what will get us ahead.

Hey. I saw that you are starting up the Elven Order again. I was planning on strating an elven guild but no one seemed interested in helping me so I never released it. Now that I see you are starting yours up again I have decided to try and join yours instead and help out however I can. My In-game name is Shadowfax and I\'m a Dermorian. Also if you need it I can help with web-design.

Does your close ties with DE mean Calen Vakhar is part of the Dark Alliance? Or has the Dark Alliance dissolved?

Cal- This is a very strict rp-guild.
Kada-Yes we are a part of an alliance but the name Dark Alliance will be changed since I don\'t want the Calen Vakhar to be labelled evil as we don\'t have an allignment.

Oh something I forget to mention in the first post, thanks to Cal for reminding me about it. Because this is a strict RP guild there are certian rules to be followed. Such rules as character names must adhere to an RP atmosphere. If anyone is uncertain as to whether their name does this or needs help creating an RP name they can simply ask me and I will help them out.

I think you are severely underestimating both the DE and the Calen Vakhar. The DE hasn\'t lost any power by losing me, because now you have to deal with the DE and the CV. I don\'t want to sound egotistical but a guild with me as a leader is a very powerful threat.

I think I faintly remember the elven order when I started playing PS... though it could just be me. I wonder which guild is older... CoL, DE, or CV...

I think it was mentioned that CV and the DE were started at about the same time, but Aendar joined the DE afterwards.

Elven Order was first, but Aelya has actually been planning a guild long before she made one if I remember...so probably about the same yeah :)
Their both way older then CoL :P

The guilds started around the same time but the Elven Order was more organized. I closed the Elven Order though in order to help Aelya and it picked up very fast.

Everyways, best looking guild site I\'ve seen yet, despite the fact it yet consists only of one page, but the general image can be seen and I like it.
And one thing I was wondering, where do you take these Elvish words? Do you make them up by your self or are they from a book like \"Elvish for n00bs\" or something?

Ripostellar- Yeah Shadowfax did a great job on the site and the links to the other pages will be done soon. The Elvish is Quenya, The Elven language Tolkien invented. You can find guides online but I prefer to use the grey company (http://grey-company.org/Language/Files/elven.pdf) guide. The name of the guild and all of the positions are in Quenya so you can find the literal meanings in the guide.

Got me a temporary sig, have to draw something myself ( will take a while ) and since i\'m sick like a dog now i have to to spare for that.

p.s. I jumped in the gene pool while the life guard was not looking, and was concieved during a night of passion and some other stuff, befind an X-rated theater in the outscurts of Yliakum.

Aendar... about the brooch in your signature and on the site. Is that just for decoraction or will it be an official guild symbol? Just curious. If it represents the guild I was thinking about using it in some sketches.

How strong? Well if you piss in my pool I\'m gonna make sure it never happens again. But seriously...well the guild will definently have a strong standing on preserving the land. My character being a Nolthrir, their whole way of life revolves around water. So I will do all that I can to make sure the balance of nature stays constant so as not to disrupt that way of life. In fact I am hoping to have either a water based or forest based guildhouse. I mean we cannot be totally devoted to the land. Trees need to be chopped down in order to build houses, but over abundance will be opposed by our guild. We\'re Elven so our way of life is tied in with the land. So we will defend the land if need be.

The forum looks good. :) Only one note about the colors. The green on black used for text in some parts of the forum and main site is very dark on my screen. I have to highlight in order to read it clearly. I think someone else mentioned that too. Perhaps it could be lightened a little?
And how about a general discussion section for the forum?
FYI Aendar. :) My character name is Muireann Cenn. That is the name I\'ve registered on the guild forum. I\'ll only be Faolin here, as that is my general username. Just so you know and can note it on the members list.

I suggest changing the grey backgrounds to the green color. Then change the green writing to white.

I\'ll get straight to the point: Looks like your leader and/or other members of the guild, insulted repeteadly a member of our guild, therefore breaking the laws of your own guild. We are a neutral guild that fights for its own economical interests, thus any grudge against other guilds is an obstacle on our pursuit of wealth. We\'re just asking for apologies so that this issue is forgotten and everyone can go back to its own bussiness.

Please, think next time before you go bashing people for being n00bs (the malignant newb) simply because they have not been hanging around a developing game for years. There are too many n00bs, but that doesn\'t give anyone an excuse to attack someone for asking about \"lag\" (or fps... you have to be pretty umm... -can\'t think of a word- to get on someone\'s case about calling slow frame-rate \"lag\"). -I didn\'t see what happened, but this is general anyways, and is probably what it was.
As Empanado said: having enemies = crappy buisness for us. Quite a trivial thing, but for Yandaoben\'s sake I ask for an explanation and/or apology for what happened.

And exactly who was it that I insulted? When I actually take the time to insult people it is because they are being rude or very annoying. And if you are expecting an apology, don\'t hold your breath. Aendar doesn\'t apologize. And if you wish to discuss this further PM me or talk to me on AIM, please don\'t spam up the thread.
EDIT: And the only time I bash a noob it is because they constantly ask questions when they are told to read the guide. I\'ve helped many new players if they come to me and ask me questions personally. Those noobs that run around shouting their problems and ignoring people telling them to read the guides deserve to be bashed.

You wish you seriously wish that were true. And this guild isn\'t new, it\'s been reopened and renamed. It was originally formed two years ago.
And on a side note. I take this as a personal insult. Coming out and accusing me like this. If anyone deserves an apology it is me. And anyone who knows me well enough knows that I very rarely bother with new players at all. So for me to go out of my way and bash a new player, they are obviously doing something to get on my bad side.
This little incident will be remembered.

Hehe. Me and Bora were having a friendly discussion about who\'s guild would win in a war. So we decided the best way to settle it was to go ahead and fight each other. It\'s nothing personal.

In hopes of getting this thread back OT....
We have added new jobs to the Calen Vakhar, civilian jobs. Those jobs are a blacksmith, alchemist, scavanger, animal trainer, and the previous ambassador position. More will soon be coming as well as more specific guild heirarchy.
The site hasn\'t been updated yet though....Shadow...

Great stuff Aendar, and nice to see the thread cleaned up a bit, although I dun see why most of my posts have been deleted, since I said nothing bad, atleast I think(side note, not spam, I think it was cause I was too sexy)
Anyway, I would like to apply to a blacksmithing position as well, in the area of armor making.

Aendar, I hope that you are only our enemies because you are the enemies of the Cabal- who will likely hire us in this war- making us your enemies is not beneficial to either of our guilds. As soon as the Cabal\'s contract expires I hope you will consider us neutral.

I already know that the Cabal has hired your entire guild. I know you may consider it business but it is our policy that any guild that works with the Cabal is considered an enemy to the Calen Vakhar. You and your guild will remain on our enemies list until I see fit to remove it.

Oh and as a side note, because the Mercs have decided to work with the Cabal the Calen Vakhar has put a boycott on their guild. No member of the CV will ever hire any Mercenary from their guild and I am asking my allies to do the same.

unless some people here are going to stay online untill you drop dead which isn\'t the best of ideas.
but the people here that want to fight us, go ahead you will notice the power off elves, you will be overcombered with fear and power, there is no use in hiding, we will find you and kill you.

If you die, you die, go to the death realms and it\'ll take a while till you come back.
anyways, aren\'t there rules in guild wars that if you die you can\'t participate (for a while) anymore?
A war isn\'t that useless, you can determine wich one of the guilds is the strongest.. not to mention it\'s fun :D

it will be a momento, if you are depressed you will play worse then you normally will, and next to that in a pc game you can only see who is stronger if you actually differ like 200 lvl\'s or something ( even if we won\'t work with levels ).
and if you think war is fun your sick minded, they should kill you just for the idea, i almost wanted to say bomb your country but since i live in the same one that\'s goin to be a problem.
but war isn\'t about who is stronger, it\'s about who is smarter and a better tacticall general, the ones who are rushing into battle may win sometimes untill they challange the wrong group.
in this case the CV thinks about the battle and the Cabal will just rush into battle and get slayed by our force.

oh, and you think you can win with just tactics? I don\'t think you\'ll stand much of a chance if this war would start right now.. cabal+mercenaries have about ten times the amount of members as the CV.. I\'m sure it\'ll change though :P
PS. and you can proceed in your bombing.. oh, wait.. that\'s what they do in wars, and if you think things like that you\'re sick minded :rolleyes:

On a side note, judging by the page\'s forums, the active members on the Cabal are 10-11, more or less. It depends on what you guys consider \"active\". (Check the members list)

Well as I said. Once CB comes out we\'re all going to be starting out at the same point combat-wise. The only advantage you could pick out is having money. But they\'re part of a guild so the guild will provide them with equipment. So they definently count in the guild member listings.

The point is that you allowed Xordan and Sep to hire you. We hate the Cabal, they are our mortal enemies. So any guild that helps them is an enemy. Think about it. The Cabal has said that they want to take over Yliaklum. That all those who oppose them will be crushed. You are helping them do this. To you it\'s business....what about those guilds that are destroyed and all the enslaved, etc., etc.
My point is by helping the Cabal you are a Cabali.

Well think about it this way: If you hire us after this war, you\'re keeping us away from the oh-so-evil Cabal, AND getting stronger. Anyways, you\'ll have plenty of time to think about it until CB comes out. I guess you should judge for yourself if we\'re such a big threat like to care about us.

The Rangers will not be supporting these actions against the CV. (Despite the fact, as Aendar mentioned, that my former leader is backing it.)
Likewise, the Rangers will not be supporting any actions against the cabal/mercenaries/enemies-of-the-CV during this war.

i will admit i am upset by The Mercenary Guilds coduct... hurling insults is the exact opposite of the rules i laid down in the original guild. But i suppose i am not in control anymore.
I would merely say to the CV you are foolish to turn us into your enemies. It is not our beliefs that you have an objection to, and we (well i at least) have no issue with yours. We would have prefered to have remained neutral to both the Cabal and yourselves, it is you who must understand that we are just the soldiers, it is our commanders - our contractors that are accountable for our actions. Be aware however that to turn us into an enemy, and attack us even when the cabali contract finished is to welcome death.
We merely seek to remain a pillar of neutrality in these dark times, please do not make a mistake you will live to regret. In my mind declaring a completely neutral faction as an enemy is just a sign of your own savagery and bloodlust, hardly manners befitting of an elf.

Do not try to pass yourselves off for mindless soldiers, you have the ability to accept or deny offers. You decide whether or not to let the Cabal hire you. And by agreeing to fight for anyone, to kill anyone, and to hurt anyone just for some gold shows your savagery and your greed.
The Mercenaries will remain on our enemies list until I see fit to take them off.

Most people have the a fear of enemy hired mercs (in general, not only us). They think we are savage horrible cruel beasts for helping the enemy. Yet those same people dont think that about the mercs that they them selves hire. You hating us at the moment is only natural. If this whole thing turned out different, and we would have been hired by you, you would probably not consider us \"savage\".

Don\'t try to tell me what I would or would not do. The Calen Vakhar would not need help in a fair fight against the Cabal. And even if we did I would not hire anyone to do it for me, that is a show of weakness. Though the Cabal didn\'t need to do that to show how weak they are.

Well, look at the numbers this way:
-The CV & DE have less total than the cabal & Mercs
-The Cabali are less serious and more inactive than CV or DE
-The mercs will push the number on the cabal\'s side above that of CV&DE\'s side
-Outside forces will repeatedly throw the balance off
(for example, a stray insult hits a-guild-mate/me in the face, adding Rangers to the fray) (Mirth joins against Cabal, etc...)
The whole thing will be a big, entertaining mess when CB comes
...but untill then, there only are insults, and posting of insults, so numbers don\'t really matter.
I have more respect for elf-boy here than I do for the average cabali, similarly most others do. (I would assume)

Monketh, most people respect \"elf-boy\" a lot more than the Cabali. But lack of respect and underestimation should be kept separate. People always said that Cabal should be more secretive, and now they are, and everyone assumes they\'re inactive. Well, that\'s just great. I, for one, will not underestimate my opponent.

As of this moment, no guild has done anything truly evil that I am aware of. (Except for the Cabal being jerks, but that\'s not quite \"Evil\".) Therefore we have no enemies, and we will support and help EVERYONE equally (in peaceful ways).
Mirth is absolutely not going to get involved in a war between evil guilds. In addition, we will NEVER ally with an evil guild in a guild war. (If there\'s a storyline conflict such as Yliakum being invaded, and everyone being called to help, obviously we would stand with the evil guilds to save the city.) In no other situation will we further the evildoers.
So I hope all of you sort out your differences peacefully, but if you don\'t please be aware that Mirth will offer healing and aid at fair prices to both sides. I hereby declare us neutral in the event of hostilities between DE, CV, and the Cabal.

This is your average story of the \"we won\'t do anything until the world is invaded\" wussiness.(pardon the fraises, since I have only respect for Mirth and it\'s members) It\'s your lack of participation that will send Yliakum to it\'s doom and back before you have anything to say about that. The change shall be sudden, and once you have realized it, there will be nothing you can do to stop it. The enemy will be too powerful, and growing with more minions coming every day. The guilds that \"could have\" prevented it by uniting with the so-called \"evil once\", would now be too weak alone to do anything. We face doom my children, and those that have fought in the war will be cast out from Yliakum under the cold and harsh fist of the enemy. Mark my words, for the clouds of war are gathering, and the prophecy shall be complete. Those that once were allies (mainly Annah) will now be enemies, and allegiances shall be tested. :diamond:
On a side note, I proclaim myself the self nominated \"Prophet of Yliakum.\" The job title comes with a side order of fries and dip.

I think it would make things interesting to incorporate a story into this whole war issue. A massive player driven story leading up to a huge battle for Yliakum.
It has all the good story elements:
Group of evil conquerors sweeping into Yliakum aided by greedy mercenaries.
Good guilds and evil guilds uniting together to destroy them.
A group of uber-sexy elves on the front-lines.
And we\'ll still get chance to bash the hell out of each other too.

CV doesn\'t show any evil goals nor made any evil deeds. Didn\'t go forward any alignment. Just because they ally with a strong guild, doesn\'t mean they take their alignment.
So maybe you see them as evil for some reason, but maybe keep it for yourself and don\'t put it as a fact

News Update:
The Calen Vakhar and the Blitzers have signed a Non-Agression Pact. Hopefully this is the beginning of a long-lasting friendship between our two guilds.
The war with the Cabal is over and the Mercs are no longer our enemies.
Maxxith and Azekyll decided to leave the guild, so good luck in whatever they choose to do now.

That would be a Talad-send. It\'s hard to start a character histoy when you don\'t know the specifics of your own race- are the elves in planeshift as imortal as LOTR elves? Or merely long lived like dnd elves? Or is aging just ignored in PS? Curious elves want to know!

Yea the new site is a lot more organized than the last few. The site is also a lot easier for me to edit which is a bug plus. It\'s a huge hassle having to go and change things on every single page of the site, but not anymore thanks to PHP.
It has been the same few of us since the guild started. We had a couple more members but they left us, but I really don\'t mind it. It\'s kinda nicer with a small guild were you actually get to know the members.
We couldn\'t have come back at a better time, I think. Once CB is out a lot more people will be coming to Planeshift and their will be a lot more things for guilds to do. Also with the elven races becoming playable our guild may get more attention from elven players.

I had things to work out back in the real world so I had to take a short break from PS and thus the CV. We are still here.
The site is currently down as the host went caput. Yes we seem to be having back luck with webhosts. Shadowfax is working on getting the site back up and ready for us soon.
On a lighter note, February 6th marks the CV\'s one year anniversary. So (provided I can get into PS by then) we will holding a celebration in the Tavern. You\'re all welcome to stop by and the drinks will be on Syzerian.
