I have just finnished downloading this game and Ive been going through the threads. Sounds like this game is awesome....But will it always be free? And what do you all think of this game? Does it stand up against everquest in other MMORPGs?

Yes, it will always be free. Comparing it to other MMORPGs is kind of pointless right now since this is pre-alpha. For being a pre-alpha, it is really good, and has a lot of potential as a game.

I mean heck, he checked out the forums without anyone telling him to. Now thats good :).

Well it won\'t be me :) The best mmorpg i played so far (i even subscribet to it for 3/4 year)didn\'t have combat :)

i took after him and read all the newb stuff. hooray for him... and other newbs who don\'t go into the game and spend hours asking questions and lagging out my crappy computer.

Welcome to Planeshift, Hughes16. You sound like a real gamer, unlike the rabble who insulted you in this thread. Hope to meet you in the game soon. Playing PS is usually a very positive experience despite its pre-alpha-ness. For one thing, most of the rabble here never shows their petty faces there...too busy \"ruling\" the forum, I guess. :D

Why is Hughes16 recieving so much praise? Everyone here is all but throwing themselves at him and bowing down to him for being some kind of Ultra-Noob. I can\'t see what in his post was even worthy of praise? Simply a question looking for an answer that, in fact, did not get answered. Seems like a bunch of meaningless nonsense to me (i know I\'m a hypocrit). There is no post here even worth a thought!
Hughes: In answer to your question, from what I\'ve gathered there will always be a free version. And as EQ is becoming dated, I have confidence that PS will evolve more by time of release and be able to compete with some of the newer MMORPG\'s. However, I would not expect to get the same out of this as a Pay-to-Play MMORPG for you will be sorely dissapointed, as the big Industries have more resources to work with.
Again, this was not meant to bash. Feel free to Flame however!

Well, than call me a hypocrit too, people these days are getting a bit too happy with noobs that don\'t ask questions that has been already been answered a hundred times, isn\'t it supposed to be that way :P

as Dalec said, the game will always have a free version as anybody can do what they want with the source code, so all you need is some people to work on it and you\'ll see new updates forever :)

Its cuz a lot of people here dont like the fact that a lot of newbs parade into the forums and strut around thinking they are gods......
Edit: Pardon my excessive use of slang... but even thats not slang.. i dono what youd call that up there.. :rolleyes:
