The greatest battle a warrior must face is the battle against fear. All who take the life of the mercenary have emerged victorious from this conflict. When death is no longer feared, an obstacle becomes a tool. This tool shall not be used in the name of politics, honour, justice or love. The services of the Guild may only be called upon in exchange for currency. A life is worthless, until a bounty is placed upon it. Beyond that, your motivations are not our concern.

Our world is one of chaos, not order, and strength inevitably triumphs ? the Guild is a bastion of strength and, inevitably, it shall triumph. If you are weak, our strength may be purchased. The guild offers a range of services, a range of prices, and a range of operatives. The harder the job, the higher the price; the more experienced the operative you choose to employ, the more you must pay. Espionage, guild wars, body guarding, armed escort, garrisoning ? all are within our abilities, as long as they are within your budget. If you have the gold, we have the steel.

Be aware, that while the Guild is above the petty squabbles of politics, and its primary motivation is the pursuit of wealth, its members are loyally bound to each other through their knowledge of pain. Treachery shall not be tolerated, whether between members or from outsiders. The pride of the Guild shall at all times be maintained, and shall be mortally defended by its champions if it is challenged. Therefore, do not doubt that to cross us is to welcome death, no matter how much you can pay.

We are looking for dedicated members at this time. We accept a diverse group, including close-ranged fighters, pole-arm specialists, marksmen and distanced offensive magic users, rouges/assassins, and healers/supportive magic users. We have a division for each, you can see more about this on the forums.
Most of our members signed up and then went inactive after about a week. We are looking specifically for members who will be active not because they are passing the time for CB, but because they enjoy the rp and PS community.

oh, almost missed this thread....
Jaxan, as you may or may not know, PS MB did not run \"setup\" on my comp, so i couldnt make it full screen... So i tried to mess with the programing, and screwd up the game... so i cant realy play till CB comes out... sory...
BTW, how do you copy and paste things onto your sig in photo shop... ive been meaning to change mine for a long time... but cant realy figure out how photoshop1.6 works... are there any tutorials on it or something??

Really I don\'t care if your that active in-game (for MB), but I want members that, like you, actively participate in discussions at the forums, submit artwork/stories/etc.
As for photoshop... I\'d recommed ctrl+v. I don\'t know anything aout it, I use Paintshop.

Welcome back Icefalcon. I\'m going to wait a day or two before making you champion of the Griffon Division (our long-ranged division), just to see if there\'s anyone against it.
The Mercenary Guild needs healers and supportive magic users. Anyone who plans to specialize in the Crystal Way (or whatever healing/support way is) is welcome to join. At this time we have no members that would fit this description. If you join now, and work hard and show dedication and loyalty to the guild, you could easily become champion of the Pegasus Division.
Our four combat divisions are also looking rather empty. The advantages of joining us are great. Please visit our website and forums. Ask us questions. Roleplay with us on our forums.
Remember, the stronger the Mercenary Guild is, the stronger you all have the potential to be.

Here is some information on the five divisions of the Mercenary Guild, every member is part of one of these divisions, When you join, you chose which division you fit best in. Each Division has one champion who rules that division. I am champion of the Griffon Division, for anybody who cares :]
--The Phoenix division is our main assult force. Phoenix\'s specialize in close-quarters combat, such as swords, axes, war hammers, and staffs. Bodygaurds will probably be Phoenix, along with stronghold assult forces, and monster-slayers.
--The Cereberus division will be our secondary combat force. Cereberus uses mid range weapons such as spears and halberds. Heavy-armored Cerberus will form our main defensive line in battles. Light-armored Phoenix and Cerberus will act as our short to mid range scouts.
--The Griffon division will be our long-ranged combat force. Offensive spellcasters and marksmen both fall under the Griffon division. We will use the Griffion division for different tactics. Escort missions and most kinds of combative missions will have at least a few Griffons.
--The Wraith division will be our stealth division. We will want our Wraiths to be skilled in sneaking, sprinting, climbing, lock-picking, and ranged weapons. The Wraiths will be given spy/infiltration, assassination, theivery, and sabotage related missions.
--The Pegasus division will be our healers and supportive magic users. All parties will have at least one Pegasus with them. Pegasus will probably not given solo missions unless they are skilled in other fields. Of course, an employer may want to hire a healer or two, so you never know.

This will sound off-topic but...
I was going to make a post of funny approaches to get some active members, to cheer up a little bit, but I just argued with my father and after all he said and did I\'m really unable to think, I can\'t really say what I\'m feeling because I really can\'t describe that well. After you are said that you are nothing but crap, you are threatened to get beat (and your mother also), that you deserve no respect and that if you want to give your opinion you have to leave the house and get a job (I\'m 16 btw)... way too much agression... too much violence....
Now related to Planeshift -> Guild related:
The melting logo should be applied, it is very nice indeed, and brings what the guild really does: Profit from conflict, the more wars, the better for us. About getting new active members, I believe that many people will try to join all the guilds avaible when CB gets realeased, because some people just check the main page and say \"Not released yet... lets wait a little more\" and ignores the forum. Perhaps the guilds will even suffer from overcrowding...
Sorry to make the post sound as spam, that was not my intention, really sorry (specially to give the devs unecessary work), I\'ll try to keep ontopic as much as I can, sorry about this rant above, could not keep it inside, sorry.

The cereberus division isnt just spears its more like this: pheonix division = fast offensive assualt division (read:smashy smashy). Cereberus = tactical/defence division, especially fond of spears, formations, tower shields, and maybe heavy armour... To be honest i was quite suprised you chose the cereberus division Keung, I thought you would be better suited for the wraith division. Maybe Kylaska in the Cereberus - big, tactical, heavy armour.
To be fair though no of the divisions have been that well explained yet, I would but its kinda a hectic time being as it is the end of my last year before uni - revision, coursework, sigh...

Yeah, if you are gonna write a big description for each on the divisions, we need to fix those \"holes\" in the site about the divisions...theres also the thing about each division\'s image thingy...we never really decided on a full set. I could probably make some new ones with photoshop some time. I have some really good ideas for the division section on the site :D I just need the info to put on it...

I\'m planning to use medium armor rather than heavy, but I\'m all about formations. Assuming we can get people to follow them, that is. The few times I\'ve actually seen ORGANIZED team combat in online gaming, it\'s a thing of beauty. You\'d be surprised what a couple of determined players can do against a team of enemies. My finest moment was when myself and one other soldier defended the Bridge Crossing level in America\'s Army against a team of six men.

It does have guerrillas, but you have to complete SF training. Then you can play as the \"indiginous forces\" on the SF maps.
Although in a move towards political correctness, your team is always seen as the US and it\'s allies, and the enemies are always seen as OpFor. To them, they look US and your guys look like OpFor (Opposing Force).

Seriously, if you\'re reading this and aren\'t affiliated with a guild, you should look into being one of us. Unless the mercenary thing completely doesn\'t appeal to you.
But we\'re a fun guild, well-organized, and we\'ve managed to stay up and running despite CBs endless delays.

Over the last few weeks, the Mercenary Guild Site has been going under some major graphical improvements. I add new stuff almost every night and I will probably end up redoing all the pages. Also, Zephyrus has left us due to a mental disorder...no idea what it is but, he\'s gone crazy...

If you are thinking about being a healer, the position of Pegasus Division Champion, which is one of the five ruling Champions of the Guild, is up for grabs. I dont think it will take much to get up to that high rank right now...*hint* ;)
