Title: Initializing World Problem
Post by: Chryzmo on February 17, 2004, 02:27:17 am
Heyas,

I just found out about Planeshift and it seemed really cool, so I downloaded it and set it up wiht the directions I found on the forum.  However, when I try to log onto my character it gets to \"Initializing World\" then Planeshift ends and I have th following left in the
Konsole window:

There is quite a bit before this, but I do not think I saw anything hinting at an error...

crystalspace.engine.warning: Lightmaps are not up to date (no \'lm_precalc_info\' found in cache).
crystalspace.engine.warning: Use -relight cmd option to calc lighting.
crystalspace.engine.warning: Couldn\'t load cached lighting for 1 object(s):
crystalspace.engine.warning:     stagewalls
crystalspace.engine.warning: Use -relight cmd option to refresh lighting.
CreateStage: Paper doll Room created
        loading definitions file /planeshift/gui/itemdescription.def...
load successful (1 windows, 0 skins loaded.)
Segmentation fault

I used the directions found here to install:
http://icarus.uic.edu/~ssenne1/mandrakebuild.html

I am running Mandrake 9.2

I have an
Athlon XP 1900+
512M RAM
128M GeForceFX 5200

Perhaps someone has an idea how to fix this?

Thanks,
Chris

Well, I know nothing of compiling PlaneShift from source. However, I noticed this:

crystalspace.engine.warning: Lightmaps are not up to date (no \'lm_precalc_info\' found in cache).

Perhaps you need to run the Updater. But like I said... I don\'t know anything about this... o.o Good luck.

To solve the problem moogie think it is, run psclient with -relight. But that can take LONG time
