the Dark Empire

Goals & Believes
We are the ones that embrace the power given by the darkness. The power revealed to the ones that sense the flow of the world. We dwell in pride and glory, fight under command of our empress. Use the power of spell, slay our foes with the steel that stays cold.
Honor among the dark ones, it is what we believe in. The loyality and trust shall help us in achieving all of our needs. Side by side, together we\'ll fight, with courage we\'ll slay any foe. With the sense of the strategy, the blindness ain\'t what we undergo.
For the thrill of battle we ride, with the great will to stay strong.
We dream to achieve our eternal goals, of power, wealth and control.

- The clash of steel calls us. -
We, the soldiers of night are the ones that shall fight no matter what. Even in the hardest of battles we won\'t step back. It is battle where we find our pride and glory and fighting is our way of life. Our swords shall flow and our hammers fall. The path of blood and steel is where we walk. And this is the oath of a warrior, this path is the one we shall never let go. The havoc we bring with us. And it is for all to know, that ones who stand in our way, are meant to fall.

- The secret knowledge awaits. -
Mages of the Dark Empire won\'t hide from any of the magic ways. From the darkness, into the light - all shall find use in our hands. Power hidden from others shall be revealed to us. The darkest secrets of magic stand open to our minds, we are the ones meant to grasp it. And we shall follow our destiny of the ultimate knowledge, we are the ones to have it.

- The embrace of shadows tempts. -
Deep down in darkness is where the shadows have their dominion. Hidden from the sight of others, the ghosts of the Dark Empire find their destination. With cautious they move and take shadows wherever they go. They are meant to reach for the secrets, to reach for the unknown. The elite minions of night will take care to make the whispers reach our ears and they will make sure to keep their goals away from peers.

- The power in unity. -
Together we can what others may only dream. We unite shadows, knowledge and steel. With our forces so strong, our minds so bright, we\'ll walk wherever we want. Nothing stands in our way, friendship and loyality is key to every gate. We embrace the power, we are the ones to forge the fate.


Other Details

We try to keep the Dark Empire in roleplaying atmosphere. Staying in character isn\'t a must yet, but it is very welcome. In future however roleplaying might be required.

alignments we accept are:
lawful-evil
lawful-neutral
What we value most is honor, courage and loyality.

There is nothing wrong with our current forums except that it comes up with errors now and then. We just need to upload it to fragnetics as xordan said.. ourweb.to has our needs, along with many features we will never use :P I dont see a need to create whole new forums.

oh, I just love how people must make it something big whenever I leave guild :rolleyes:
anyway, there are simple reasons to become good...
first I left DE because I don\'t think I\'m welcome there anymore (and it seems only one person cared about me leaving)
second, I became good because: PS doesn\'t support evil and there\'s no place for freelance evil warrior.
Why not joining another evil guild? read what Sangwa said...

Hmmm I suppose I should post here and give my opinion.  I won\'t lie and say that I\'m happy about any of this.  Mainly because the reasons for all this are completely stupid and trivial.  So all I will say is good luck on finding another guild or whatever it is you plan to do now.

Even though you don\'t really know me...  I\'ve heard a lot of things about you.  

So does your heading back to the side of good mean that you will head back to the Defenders?  Or will you be looking for another guild?

Either way, just know that there will be new friends waiting for you wherever you go.

And Draklar, what do you mean by PS doesn\'t support evil?  PS just shows that there is no true good and true evil in this world.  Only the gray area in between.

nah, Defenders changed completely since I left. I don\'t know what I\'ll do, I\'m not even sure if I\'ll play PS anymore. Oh well... future will tell...

so all in all the community sucks, so does our future GM and I have doubts about where PS is going.
... also lost best friend, which forced me to leave guild I liked very much =/

well I\'m taking break from PS... will be back in some time but I doubt I\'ll ever come ingame again. farewell for now.

I guess I can\'t say too much because I don\'t have all the background about what this stems from, but don\'t be a stranger for too long Draklar, you will be missed.

A break can sometimes do us good and help us to put things into perspective, but try not to lose hope in this community and the people who exist here, we still have a good thing going and I\'m sure the future is still bright :)

Taking a break is the best thing he can do.  everyone here who has been here for a long time has taken a break for at least a little bit.  And most realize how much they miss PS and return.  Things can get very overwhelming here especially lately.  Hopefully he will choose to come back once he has had time to take a break and cool off.

Anyways to summarize.

And it seems like most of the DE\'s (well a fair few) didn\'t want you to leave... Ah well, if you\'re not part of the in-crowd, you get left in the dark (Get it? Dark? Ha Ha...)

Hehe Just kidding.

And maybe all those evil people are fiding their true calling...... neutrality!

From my experiences with him, we roleplay alittle..I am good he is evil whatever..but out of roleplay he doesn\'t hold any grudges against me that I have noticed! He doesn\'t take the roleplaying personal when out of role is what I mean! There certainly is quite a few people that will do that!

i hope draklar doesnt have the same experience to what i did when i came back. but when he returns he shall know who his friends really are.

draklar, with such roleplayers and interesting people like you leaving it only adds to the emptyness of the community. if draklar does never return i may leave aswell

 \'eh, you really meant that? Well, Dark Empire is a member of the Dark Alliance, where Black Order is in as well. There are 2 guilds in the DA. Though, it is an alliance for 3.
 For a long time, there was a search for the 3rd member, but it seems none was worthy (except BlackFlame, that sadly left the alliance).
 So, it\'s not impossibble for you to join Dark Alliance, not at all. Hard? Yes ...
 You have to prove worthy in the first place. And I don\'t think a good roleplayer in here comes with a name like \"Ragnarok\" in his guild. Sorry, but here is PLANESHIFT.
 Anyway, tell everything you have in your mind. Why you can be a good member? Why everything ... ;)

The DE is a barely active eliteist guild, you have to be \"special\" to even get in :P I doubt they\'ll accept an alliance with any guild which isn\'t either quite old, or with great potential :D

Valbrandr, the Dark Empire is already on an alliance, the Dark Alliance as it has already been mentioned, which is missing a member.
Your alignment is acceptable to the Alliance and so are your goals, but unless you accept allying your self to the Black Order and describe to us what could be gained for the three guilds I don\'t think either Lord Kris or Princess Aelya will consider your proposal.
Pay little atention for what the others have told. Their words, even if some not totally stripped of knowledge and common sense, can\'t be too accurate for none of them is a Dark Empire member, or of the Dark Alliance for that matter.

I am still new here and I had no idea that they were some elite group.  The only person I had talked to was Draklar.  I do think that it is funny that Planeshft has elite groups who have not even gained a level yet.  *Seperot falls out of his chair laughing but suddenly cannot breath... Hmm. it is Valbrandr standing on his throat*  (Btw how is your website going).

We at the Sentinels of the Ragnarok are a closly nit group of friends in rl.  There are only about twelve of us now.  I believe we have a lot of good ideas but most of us are still n00bs.  I cannot guarrantee that we will be an elite group but I can assure that we will have elite members.  I was just hoping to make peace than to find ourselves on opposite sides of the battlefield.

Elitism isn\'t just about levels...
If all you seek is peace then go speak to those who preach it. The Dark Empire allies with others not to avoid them on the battlefield but to join them there against a common enemy.
And Seperot is right. Research something before dealing with it.

You do have a lot of ideas Valbrandr, some of which might turn out to be great. But calling some of your members noobs and mocking a guild you wanted to ally yourself with are not great ideas.

I do not consider the word n00b a bad word.  Some of the players that are in the guild have merely played once or twice ,all I meant was they are inexperienced but many have high aspirations.  If you think I intended to mock you or your guild you have judged me too quickly.  I was intentionaly mocking Seperot because he is just a merc and he is always falling out of his chair laughing.  Maybe I should have looked into your guild and asked around more about you, however, I did not think that my invitation for an alliance/ non agression pact would draw such criticism.  I overestimated your willingness to participate.

I\"m another member of the Sentinels of the Ragnarok guild.  Our guild has a history that predates the 3D version of planeshift (not planshift MUD pre 3D which started in 1996 I think).  Anyways - I was always a real time strategy player, and not one for RPG\'s.  At that time myself and several friends played Age of Empires relentlessly.  We formed the idea of starting a group named Sentinels of Ragnarok.  We had problems getting it organized, and the inability to play AOEII online hindered us.  Then I noticed a few posts in a Linux forum about Planeshift.  I thought it looked quite promising.  I told Valbrandr about the game and we, with one other friend, started working on creating a guild.  I think Valbrandr does a good job as a senior leader, and calling us noobies isn\'t an insult, its the truth.  We are simply new to the game.  

The idea of a non-agression pack was simply to try to build some friendships not to create enemies in a *cough \"elitist\" guild, and any mockery is mockery on me as well as other members of our guild.  Valbrandr isn\'t the one mocking our members its those of you who choose to be negative and look for reasons to insult people.  

I really can\'t stand people who constantly think they are better than other people.

Elitism:  When things are organized for the benefit of a few people with special interests or abilities.

We benefit those who we find have special abilities and might help the guild to achieve it\'s objective. This is elitism... it\'s not thinking that we\'re superior than anyone else, it\'s trying to be it by recruiting skilled people only.

Thank you Sangwa for your level headed assessment of what transpired.  It was not a fight with the DE it was an arguement  with the other forum members.  There is no anger here about being rejected, we were just wondering why you did not give us a chance.  I know it is hard to trust some guilds in this game and most likely even harder to trust a new guild that may not be active or may dissipate.  The biggest reason I proposed an alliance is because I have talked to Draklar and he seemed to be a good person who was helpful to us.  It was never meant to cause such an uproar where insults were flung around and hit the innocent.  I guess we can give it time and see were and when our paths cross.      

P.S. If it was because of our alignment (Neutral Good), we have already changed it to Chaotic neutral.

P.S.S. To me n00b is a relative term.  It means something different to me than it does to some of the other forum members.  I do not mean it in a negative way, sorry for the misunderstanding.

I was and am giving you a chance. Or else I wouldn\'t have told you that you had to think about posting some advantages to the three guilds and that your alignment was worthy of the alliance.
The ones who didn\'t give you a chance were the ones that laughed at you with no reason, creating this unpleasant situation. It\'s not our fault that this mess was started.
Were it for me we would be discussing what could be gained with such an alliance, instead of discussing how we have insulted one another.
Since it was not our fault to begin with, I propose to ignore the obvious culprits and discuss this more privately to keep from their destructive meddling.

PS: Unfortunely Draklar is not a member of the Dark Empire. He has been, not so much time ago.
If you checked our site and found him in the list I must apologize, we have had some trouble in updating our fragnetics site.

You are correct and I am sorry.  I lashed out because I thought that those people were members of your guild, which  they apparantly were not.  I directed my rebutals at you and your guild when they were not the true culprits.  I am very sorry.  I probabily shouldn\'t have been so defensive in the first place anyways.  In any case - I am sorry to all members of  the DE to whom I have insulted.  I offer no apology however to those who flamed us simply for trying to make friends.

Ok, let\'s point out a little detail here.
You, without any research, assumed that DE is inactive and posted that on their thread. Now Sangwa had the right to get angry as your ignorance can, and most likely does, make DE look worse. Quit the bickering, all of ya. It\'s crap like this that made me stop visiting the forums. I have been inactive in the community(I have reasons) but NOT in the guild itself. The same goes for several of our members. On the outside we might appear inactive, and I have just recently given the OK to start full recruiting again. With the release of CB I will probably start getting more involved in the community. Percieve the DE as you will, but please dont make shameless comments to make us look bad when we don\'t deserve it. It just isnt cool, understand?

So I ask 2 things.

Of the DE members: Ignore peoples comments unless they are blatant lies. Then by all means clear up the banter, but say no more. Other than that just ignore random insults. And needless to say, don\'t do anything as such yourselves.

Of the community/guilds in general: Let me, my council, and members run our guild how we want and let us RP our characters in peace, and without needless/random insults and lies. In return we will be happy to offer you the same in return.

I know the concept of \"being nice\" and \"respecting one another\" is a foreign concept to some of you, but I think we can all pull it off.
