Title: problem installing planeshift

I downloaded the 5 file parts and the run_me_first file, then i double clicked on the run_me_first file , but the only thing that happens is a little black window pops up and closes :s wat do i do?

check for the .exe file that has been created ;)

if it didn\'t create a .exe file check what went wrong by opening run_me_first.bat with a dos prompt instead by double clicking on it. go to run(press windows button+R) type cmd there and press OK. now navigate to the folder you put the 6 files in by doing cd folder and then execute the run_me_first.bat by typing run_me_first.bat in the prompt and pressing enter.

Or open the bat file in notepad or whatever and add:

pause

Which should make the file look something like this:
copy /b PSV0.2.010.Part1 + PSV0.2.010.Part2 + PSV0.2.010.Part3 + PSV0.2.010.Part4 + PSV0.2.010.Part5 PlaneShiftV0.2.010.exe
pause

Save and run. It should wait for a key strike in the end now

Wouldn\'t it be a good idea to put this link on the main planeshift site by the way ? That, with a visible note advising to update (since it isn\'t done when you download the client, for a reason I fail to understand) would reduce significantly the number of posts here, and the /shouts in the game.

Smalls things like that would allow people to focus on real problems, and reduce the amount of \'spamming\' the players endure.
