Well it all depends what kind of connection you have :P.  I\'ve gotten speeds faster than my connection can normally handle due to compression, but this is for things like unziped txt files and such.

Did it stay at that speed the whole time? Cause thats amazing  8o

actually sep ive got a 512k and i was geting a nice 2000ish too when donwloading conquer 2 days ago. and it was 7.00 here and a bunch of old people were on thier AOHELL so i know i could have gone faster. I think the file is hosted on some nice servers or something...

The highest I\'ve ever gotten was 500kb/s
I\'m on 256k
That\'s a nice dl speed.
Once I greatly exceeded the capabilities of my old dial-up modem, when I was downloading Twinsen\'s Odyssey. Fun game that..

This happans to me when restarting to download a file. Not sure about that, but i think it simulates dnlding of the dnlded part(dont blame me, im no eXpert!) Thouse little speed \"lags\" ar noraml, ISP problems. I have a 256kb/s connection, but in the local network(gah, dont know how to say that in english) of my ISP can get super-speed. Once i got 2mbit/s (60kbyte/s from one user) in Direct Connect ++. That depends on your ISP.

Pffff, it happens to me all the time...

I have a t3 modem with sattelite connection. Usually i get 5000 kbits per sec.....

...o wait that was in my dream...

No i have a 2 mbit connection, but this never happens to me darnit!   althoug it happened once at my friends place. He was dloading some music on Kazaa and he got a connection of 3400 kbps, but after that it never happened again :(

I think its just some sort of bug in your connection or in the dload manager, but the strange thing is that it is really the 3400 kbps...hmmmmm...strange....

econquer.zip.. sure

I always got weird speeds like that when I just started a download, or resumed it.. I think it\'s just a bug in the download app you use or something, some sort of lag.

I can think of 2 possible explanations
1) mixup at your service provider\'s. Did not apply the speed limit when you logged in. The amazing speed then can\'t have only occured with that specific server
2) Bug in the Download Manager. DL_speed = sum(Bytes_downloaded) / total_time_elapsed. If total_time elapsed is increased too slowly the DL_speed seems to explode (for lim[total_time_elapsed -> 0](sum(Bytes_downloaded) / total_time_elapsed) = inf.)

I\'d guess it\'s the latter, with IE5 this \"problem\" occured quite regularly for me.

well i use mozilla for a start so im guessing its the first one since i have about 1/4 of the file in about 2 minuets...

i just wish i whould happen more often ;)

I like Mozilla its a great browser, not to mention it will gain more of the market in internet browsers when they biuld Internet Explorer into windows meaning no Mac or Linux versions.
