The memory leaks that caused the lag have been fixed for a certain extent, so it\'ll probably be less lagy. However, the world will also be bigger + there will be more players playing wich causes more lag.

So all we can do is wait and see for ourselves, there\'s no way to accuratly predict how much lag there will be, this will be tested after the release, by us.

They have upgraded much of the technology and have said that the new models are more efficient, meaning they have cleaned up a lot of the lag. But more people and bigger world are sure to counteract any immidiate improvement :) So just have patience when it comes out cuz it will probably lag at least at first.

actually a larger world will cut down on the lag. think about this, if its bigger we can have loading sequences. as in you will load certain areas big enough for you pc (or mac :P) to handle. if we had loading in that small little town, it would seem out of place and stupid. so i am welcoming a bigger world in both that lag will be cut a little bit, and having a bigger world is just overall more fun (like exploration). hopefully in the enlarged world we will still have shouts that echo throughout all of ylakium though. it kind of brings the community more toghether when you can talk to a bunch of people no matter where you are.

We will have to wait and see how they handle area changes. However, all of the loading causes stress on the servers I.E. it still will cause lag. As for shouting across Ylakium, why? You should only be able to shout within a certain area around you. EQ was impossible to RP with the shout channel on, and you needed it on to meet up with new group members. Let\'s not repeat that, let the taverns bring the community together not shout channel.

You wouldn\'t be able to read any of the shout though. If there are 100+ people playing, the chatbox would move too fast for you to read it. I think the talk should be over a certain distance. But, I still think there should be guild chat and personal chats(of course: you need those!!) :)

eh i think we should just keep if for cb... i like the close nit community feel of having a chat option that spreads forever. it lets questions be asked very easily. after cb we should definally turn it off, that will transform ps into an actual game.

About questions. It would be better to direct them to people who are indicated for the job. Just like how it works in DaoC.

Because, if you have to read something that\'s said to you in the shout channel, you\'d have to look all over the place for you message.
Like said before, it would be unbearable to see the list of text speed through your chat window :S

AFAIK shout will be limited. There was also some talk about limiting the tell. The interface will have so many chat tabs that you won\'t be flooded anymore, except in shout maybe, BUT don\'t forget the ignore. ;)

Their goal was the end of last year, but as always, there were delayings. Hopefully soon.
