okay my sig is in 4 parts, first there are three lines wich all have short words beginning with a V (that is they do in the language they are in now but wont be once they are translated). and the third but the most important is meant to be a boast and a threat. happy guessing :D
-
it means that you like to make stupid pointless threads, your name is gumster and you like to eat cheese? wrong? eh just guessing.
-
Wow when I saw thw title of this thread I thought this had to be Whemy\'s. I was wrong. There is a new Forum Troll in town.
Gumster no more posting pointless threads. You will soon learn that no one here cares about what your sig means.
-
if you are only posting to say something bad dont post at all, if i will soon find out than its pretty pointless saying it. and why do you think it is pointless?

I wonder how many times Aendar heard that :P
I know only what the first line means, as for rest I don\'t know and to tell the truth - I don\'t care...
-
if no one has posted the answer this time tomorrow i will.
-
If you can see my house from up there, you\'re probably pretty high, which explains why you disagree with people about what constitutes a meaningful post/thread.
Not that it matters to me; this is a forum for crazy talk anyway.

geez pardon me for breathing and you (whemyfield) started a thread about your new kitty and what you should name him  and why is a thread about what your desktop looks like any more important than guessing things that are in latin?
(no offence Oliq)
-
I\'ve heard the 1st line before... I came, I saw, I conquered.
I was curious about the others and searched for them:
I visited, caught a disease, and left..
I came, got ratted, and threw up...
what the hell does that last one mean?! :) ?(
-
awww you got it :) the first one,
veni, vidi, vici means i came, i saw, i conquered.
the second one, visi, veneri, vamoosi means, i visited, i caught an embarrasing disease, i ran way,
the third one, vini, vermini, vomui means i came, i got ratted, i threw up.(Kudos to Galendan:) )
and last but not least AB HOC POSSUM VIDERE DOMUM TUUM means, i can see your house from up here.:D(Kudos to dfryer)

-
I know its in elfish...
-
yea, you made the first step...

trust me, comparing your threads to someone\'s that has \'Probation\' as a forum rank ain\'t good idea...

You all do realise he just nicked those phrases from a Discworld novel!!! :D :D
-
i found them in a discworld novel (Jingo) but does Terry Pratchett (the best author in the world) have copyright over the whole of the language of latin?
and did he invent the phrase Veni, Vidi, Vici? i think not!
and it doesnt really matter \'cause a lot of the sigs are from books or movies et cetera
-
Sorry for any offence I was just saying that its not exactly an original idea altering veni, vidi, vici (yes I do know that he didn\'t make that up) to something a bit funier when translated and I should have put a smilie on my comment.
Terry Pratchett (the best author in the world)
Pratchett is an excellent fantasy comic author, I agree with that
and it doesnt really matter \'cause a lot of the sigs are from books or movies et cetera
Yes I know, soom of mine have been from Pratchett as well but like I said I originally just forgot the smilie

I said this thead was pointless for many reasons. first of all i stared a thread about finding a kitten and now i have a new member to my family. that is interesting to most. your making a subject just for words in your sig. Cmon many people have made threads for thier sig, and they have usually been flamed for it because it is boring, why should you be any different? I have probation because of a number of things, but making interesting, boring, pointless threads is not one of them. If I made a thread like this, i would be flamed to a charcoal. Im not going to take it easy on you just because people view some of my material the same as yours. Now if you had made a thread for the elven language or latin, sure why not. But just for your sig is just retarded. Now as for where veni, vidi, vici is easy. Julias Ceasar of course said it and afterward it almost became the roman chant. Even after he was killed you could hear it being mumbled in the streets, or as pluto put it. Anyways i dont know why you would put such a wonderfull quote mixed with such dumb ones as \"i threw up\" and \"i can see your house from here\" but thats your decision....

I knew I\'ve seen those somewhere! There\'s like a whole site I stumbled upon that have different phrases for those too.
And whemy, shut up, your cat thing is no different no matter how much you think it is...and I could give a link to the many locked/crap threads you\'ve made.
-
Indeed. Whemy you are in no position to chastise anyone for making a spam thread. I am though. :]

how do you know?
and anyway thinking that just because you know you are going to be flamed if you were to open a similiar thread is that any reason to flame me for it?
-
Does he own copyright on them? actually yes! he does, obviously not veni vedi vici (obviously spoke by Ceaser) but the other pig latin phrases were his creation, and obviously not true latin.
Theres nothing else to be said in this thread so all shut up. :] :D
-
I concur. Gumster and Whemy: You\'re both as bad as eachother. There, settled, now quit whining. :)
