It\'s a pretty cool sword, pretty realistic as well.

it looks like a tie fighter with a big nose :)
that and a groovy sword
as far as feedback goes, its very nice especialy the guard but dont be afraid to let your imagination go, it wont hurt anyone and you might just find a miracle in your ideas :)
keep up the practice and youl allways get better

Hello
Thanks for the comments
Kintall: Maybe some boosters and it can go on fighting some TIE. lol
The sword design was pure imagination, I guess there must be someone that knows about swords and will find it not suitable for combat. As usual design hints are very welcome.
I wonder:
Poly count (faces) it is ok or too high?
Is there a way to put a Maya model in the game?
Anyway I will play around a bit more to see what can happen.

Getrag, dont worry about whether the sword id weildable, this is a fantasy game it even has people sized/shaped things that can fly, and physics wont come near it at any point, I say make it cool looking :P

There is a maya2spr utility, so you could get stuff from there to CS format. How that thing works though, I have no idea. I haven\'t worked with Maya much, but it seems to have some good UV tools, so get to work on a texture now!

Hey, thanks for the feedback.
I played a bit with the guard (kinda crusader cross) and I added a hole on the blade, seems to be more effective in combat..

Skizzik: thanks for fixing the 1st image but I can see it pretty well so if you see that this one doesn?t work here is the link:

Kintall: thanks again I will keep dreaming then.
Wedge: Thanks for the info on the Maya utility I will give it a try.
I think I can get a 3D Max file of it so if its better for you guys let me know and I will try to get the max file.
C&C always welcome

Very nice, but what I would like to know: How do you display the stats of a pictire (faces, verts etc). I use maya too, but I haven\'t figured it out yet.
/me is an idiot. Check the Heads up display menu... *sigh*
-
Don?t worry man, there is so many buttons and tools that you need a road map to find them or better a GPS if you get lost...lol
I guess you found it:
Display/Heads up display/poly count
Thanks for the comment
The funny thing is that I did the mod in the guard and I won few polys! go figure ..lol

You being able to see the picture probably has something to do with browser cache or still being logged in to your host\'s system (damn your host is slow).
I like the new guard better, it\'s less fantasy-style, but still I like it better. It fits in really well with the rest of the blade and the handle.

Hello and thanks for the comments!
Anyone knows a good free server with good dl speed?
Skizzik: Thanks again, if you could tell me how you paste the image on the reply next time it will make it easier to see. Thanks for the input on the guard!
Kintall: I am glad you appreciate the design.
Typies: I stop it there because I was loosing the feeling of a cross but let me give it a try and I will see what I can do.
I thought that the hole in the blade will make it less strong on combat, what you think about it??

You could use something like ww.photobucket.com, it\'s fast, free and allows hotlinking (100mb).
I put my pics in my posts the same way as you do but your host doesn\'t allow hotlinking.
A hole in the blade adds a nice touch and if done correctly wouldn\'t weaken the blade. It causes massive damage to the flesh. :]
