ok a few ideas:
Work
One should be able to work in a form of workshop, so that one needed certain tools inorder to apply ones craft. Also there sohuld be the off chance that sometihng goes wrong (E.g. Alchemist blows up a test tube, Smith creates a waaaayyy to heavy sword....) Also some tihngs should take time to make. So that it\'s just not to make a master sword....
Boarding houses
There should be places where one could live, just like a 2 room apartment in a big house or something. Also one sohuld bea ble to put in furnitshure (chairs beds...) and mabey a workbench or book shelf. One could buy or just rent. Also the same goes for some sort of Bank/storage area.
Monsters
There should be more to it thant jsut monsters standing around waiting to get slaughtered. MAbey the monsterse attaced the city, or that there is a sudden increas in monsters and there starts to be bounties on them...
Camps/XP
One should be able to set up a form of Camp when one is outside the city. Ofcoarse one must have matterials and such to make the camp. Also one should get better at making camps as one soes it. So one gets XP from using a skill.
I understand that the camp thing would be a BIG demand in the server if everyone built a camp... but mabey each char could only have one camp up at a time. and that the camp deteriorated or such when left alone for a amount of time....
Minor things
One sohuld be able to sit in the grass, sit on chairs, lay on beds, sit and read, look like one is workin when one is working... *you get the idea*
What I whant, is a game that is more than the flat-kill-xp- buy/sell-make-an-item-kill idea. A more dynamic and \'Realistic\' world.
Good job, you finiched reading, you may blink now

1st off-funny joke at the end (i got bloodshot eyes from that-lol JK)-& also, i have some ideas that u might like
u can build your oun house(your freinds can help u build it)but u gotta buy-mine the raw miterials
was gonna ost a thread about a more \"user controlled\" game economy-so that 6 months from now we wont even have npc merchants
and also i like your idea 4 a camp-but a better idear woud be that instead of making the WHOLE camp then & there- u just make \"parts\" of the camp (eg-campfire, perma-spell sheilds[if that \"everlasting\" spell idear gets off the ground & so on) & that the \"Parts\" just weardoun & itl be probably ezer on the server 2

there shouldnt be an off chance that something goes wrong if something goes wrong like the sword is to heavy its your own fault....maybe stuff that is based on chance can go wrong but if you dont screw up the game shouldnt do it for you

As for houses or living quarters, I also envisioned something for guilds like forts or \"compounds\". An area with a large house for living quarters with underground tunnels for escape in case of pending doom. Would set up attacks on enemy camps. :D

Well it looks like Planeshift is the game for you...
BTW, work on your typing, it was kinda hard to read ;)

One thing that would be importaint in this game, would be: are there going to be Ranged weapons (Xbows, Bows, Darts...) And if one could shoot through the windows.
And what about keys and such for the houses and chests that one keeps items in?
If this game is going to be anywhere near what people here are saying, IT WILL BE GREAT! :D
[Edited for spelling]

Why would you shoot out windows? Will there be monsters walking in the streets of cities? I think not...

Hey..you might have a house outside the city in plains or something...i was playing StarWars: Glaxies at my mate\'s and he had a house in the middle of no where...and there were like monsters outside his house and one of em (particulary huge one) went inside (it\'s a bug!) and started chasing him!!! Luckely he got stuck on the bridge.......

i dont see why monsters cant just walk through streets or invade towns.....but it probably wont last long because of the guards and plus the it will probably get an inch into the town attack a player and get mauled to death... but other than that it should be possible if a monster decided to walk into town....unless they just decided to put some sort of magic protection as an excuse to protect people
